Looking for a set of wiper blades that hold up well in the Midwest snow, ice, and salt. 2024 R1T. Thanks in advance for recommendations.

If you are seeking durability / longevity, there's no wizardry. All rubber blades are about the same. You just have to do your part to keep them clean and replace them at least once a year, more often pending use and wear. Fancy pants expensive silicone blades from the likes of PIAA (which isn't officially sold in the US) could last longer. But silicone blades are grippy and tend to skip until worn-in or the glass is treated to reduce friction.

If you are looking to replace the rubber inserts only (and not be wasteful), these Mazda OEM blade refills are compatible. You can get them from your local Mazda dealer's parts counter. The part numbers are BBP2-67-333 and BHS3-67-333. You save about $20 per pair over the Rivian replacement blades. From each factory blade, keep the metal backing strips. You'll need to transfer them over to the Mazda inserts. If your Rivian blade frames (articulated plastic) are faded, you can restore them to a deep black shine with Cerakote Trim Coat ($16 from Amazon).

This is all from past discussions. Forum search "wiper" if you want more posts to read through.

Do you have any recommendation or part number for the rear wiper insert?

I prefer inserts. Such a shame to waste all that metal.

I do not. I have a T, no rear wiper. The factory blades are mostly plastic, so yah that's worse than metal for landfills.

I got the PIAA and am very happy with them. Although I live on the east coast, so not sure how they'd hold up in your Midwest environment. 🤷

Just noticed Amazon says "this doesn't fit", but it fits great, LOL.

Iirc, don't forget to put it in "wiper change mode" in the menu.

PIAAs were great until one of the clips broke and it flew off. I had a pair of PIAAs last several years on a prior car though, and they worked just a good as the day I put them on 3+ years later. I’m in VT, and we have plenty of winter conditions to test wipers. The factory Rivian ones were pretty bad in comparison. If you do get silicone, use the included wipes, it makes water bead up and the wipers run really smoothly/quietly.

I would have gone with PIAA again, but decided to give another silicone option a try because the shape of the silicone wiper itself looked like an improvement, and they sell refills (even in Yellow if you have a quad and that’s your thing—I’ll probably go with black again): https://kimblade.com/collections/front-wipers?sort_by=manual&wiperfinder=KA02198

So far they’ve been working well and I like how they look, though they aren’t beam wipers like I thought they’d be, but so far no issues (I’ve only used them through the last couple months of winter so far).

75k and 38 mo. Still rocking the originals! Take care of them and clean and wipe them with a good rubber treatment and they will last a long time! I’ll go with the stock replacement or Rain X when time!
