You must have missed the post where he said the REASON he was complaining about his cover was because with the latest app update his app now permanently shows something (the cover) as being open. So he will always have a warning that something is unlocked, thus making the warning useless for him because he has no way of knowing if it is just the cover causing the notification, or something else actually open.
IMO, a very reasonable thing to complain about.
Yes, I must have missed that. I bet another update comes out pretty quickly to fix that issue.

+1 only seeing the new lock/unlock control and nothing else. Can’t add shortcuts either. iPhone 13 Pro w 17.0.3 and the latest app/truck software. I’m upgrading to iOS 17.1 now to see if that helps.

You can create shortcuts for your watch the same way you do for your phone.
This is true, but I am talking a dedicated iWatch app. I haven't really used shortcuts, but I think I will try now.

Shortcuts are there just not automatically visible, go to shortcuts, apps, rivian app, and you will see the options. For the open screen open a door, you will see an alert, drag down on main screen to see what is open.

Thank you for finding this! I now have it on my lock screen as an easy way to open the hood or tailgate.

I can now access the shortcuts after upgrading to iOS 17.1, but I’m not seeing any UI changes other than the new lock control. Strange.

Looks like I’ll have to toss it into car wash mode here shortly and see what that does in the app

Thank you for posting this info! I setup the shortcuts for lock, close hood, and close liftgate* on my phone and they work on both phone and watch. I think this is a really nice convenience and I hope the Android users get this functionality if they haven’t already.

*I only did the lock and close actions since I want to default to secure if I accidentally trigger a shortcut. I set to open the app so if I want to unlock or open from a distance I can go directly to the app or use one of the shortcuts to open the app.

Rivian App is not showing up under shortcuts - what am I doing wrong?
Click add, then go to the apps tab, it is there.

Drag the main screen down and it shows what is open.
I think it would be a nice future improvement to automatically present that swiped down view if anything is open. I can see R1T owners with working tonneaus which are intentionally left open for cargo, etc. being annoyed by the warning they have to act on just to see what the warning is about. The same goes for anyone who likes to keep their windows open or vented.

Eventually, they could even reduce the size of the head-on graphic so all can be shown at all times.

Yes, that is how Tesla does it, they just animate the icon on the Home Screen. That would be a good adjustment.

Another adjustment I would like to see is have them change the location to mimic the Tesla app. The Tesla app shows the speed and movement in the app where you can actually follow the vehicle.

Thank you - just had to add it. All good now.
So what advantage do shortcuts have? Haven't used any shortcuts yet; can I add the Rivian lock/unlock shortcut to the lock screen? Or the home screen?

yes you can - as others have mentioned, I will use it when my R1 doesn't open with proximity and I will also use it to open and close the frunk rather than locating the button on the outside. We will all have our own use cases.

Nice. I'll have to look into it then since I manually lock/unlock at home.
