Rivian Assistant - Wish list

Right now this is an Apple/Bluetooth limitation, but it’s being worked on between Rivian and Apple!

I'm a Onecal user and love it to sync all my biz and gmail, family cals, I sync like 5 cals. Tho I'd think most don't want to pay for a cal sync just to use with rivian. Onecal is great btw.

According to the RivianTrackr YouTube Channel ("Hey, Rivian. The New AI Assistant in 2026.15 Is Wild"), you can say something like "Hey, Rivian. I want to submit feedback. The heated seats are still turned on and you told me they were turned off, so it didn't work." And the Rivian responds on the screen with "Vehicle diagnostic captured" That is at about 18:50 in the video.

I just set up the assistant and job 1: "talk faster." No I mean even faster. How about even a little faster. (Third time got it to tolerable.)

It blows my mind that they won't allow some things to be toggled with RA saying it's due to safety concerns while then requiring 5 taps and a bunch of scrolling to get to it otherwise while driving. Personally, I want the ability to turn on/off Lane Keep Assist (LKA) because it's super aggressive on a twisty mountain/canyon road and I'd rather not get shunted into a car that crossed the center line when trying to avoid it. So, when I remember, I just turn off LKA when getting on one of those roads, but then I also have to remember to turn it back on later. RA would've been great for this, but Rivian was apparently too worried about the lawyers to actually make it useful. I don't need RA for the things that are usually displayed on the center screen all the time in Gauge View, which is what I normally leave up...I need it for the stuff that involves multi-level menu diving to change.

Is it possible to have the assistant read/view from a Shared google calendar? I don't use my personal one as my wife and I have a shared one for all events, however when setting up the calendar it seems it can only read from personal which has zero events.

Sadly it won’t do that right now. I tried like 50 ways to get it to work since Rivian didn’t really provide much guidance.

Is it possible to have the assistant read/view from a Shared google calendar? I don't use my personal one as my wife and I have a shared one for all events, however when setting up the calendar it seems it can only read from personal which has zero events.

I haven't messed with this in awhile, but you should be able to have the events from your shared calendar automatically added to your personal calendar if that helps.

You were able to get it to speak faster? I asked and it said, "Sorry, I can't."

One thing I liked: The Maps navigation voice is better now, WAY more natural sounding, kind of like an NPR Radio intern. I'm happy that it no longer says "in a QUORT'r mile, make a left turn" or "turn left at the stpSIGN."

I did notice though that the Rivian Assistant voice is different than the Navigation voice. ,Seems like they could've/should've unified it.

Also, I sent an iMessage via Assistant and it worked well, but when I received a reply, it didn't show up or chime in the car. I do have Message Notifications turned on.

One of the first things I asked is if it had different voices. It responded something along the lines of "not yet, but hopefully in the future". I know this is like a "version 1.0" product but I mean, even my robot vacuum has different voices.

Lots of sizzle here, not seeing much steak.

For the added functionality, texting alone, free of charge, its great.

thanks, you got me thinking, went into script.google.com and with claude's help wrote a script that'll take all events from the shared cal, tag them with "Rivian_sync" and copy them over to my personal cal (and an update function to clean up/remove/update...etc) - triggers every 30mins.

probably overkill but achieves a goal until they support this feature oob.

Yes it was able to speak faster and it started speaking faster and then it's spoke even faster when I told it the second time but then it didn't remember to do it and then I asked it to do it again and it said it did not know how so apparently it doesn't actually know how to do it but it did it anyway and no I can't explain it's going to be a long cycle f
or the next upgrade

Interesting, I tried that as well, and I didn't even get the hopeful "maybe later" message, just "I'm sorry, I can't change my voice. Is there anything else I can help you with?"

I wish Rivian Assistant could control windows up/down. The only way I know of to do "all windows up" and "vent windows" is with the phone app, and that is a feature I use regularly and would prefer to be able to do it through the truck itself, or the Assistant.

I agree. It says it can't do it for safety reasons, but by that logic, there should be some kind of lock on the physical buttons, because it is a lot easier to accidentally hit one of the buttons than to accidentally say "hey Rivian, open my window".
