Is it possible to have the assistant read/view from a Shared google calendar? I don't use my personal one as my wife and I have a shared one for all events, however when setting up the calendar it seems it can only read from personal which has zero events.
It's not only shared calendars, but any secondary calendar in the account. I submitted feedback on this through the assistant this morning on the way to work. There are ways to sync all of the calendars into the main one, but it's not something I'm interested in doing just to make calendar usable from the car. Much easier to just say "OK Google" and have my phone do the job the first time.

This may not be exactly what you want but someone on Reddit posted ‘point cabin air vents to me (or away from me)' works.
thanks, good to know!

I'm not a user of LLMs or even Alexa, so I don't know what is a reasonable request, what is already easily available for systems like RA, etc, but reading through 5 pages of this I have 2 requests I would actually find as improvements:
  • Voice to text capability to send/receive voicemail messages like I could on my Windows phone 15 years ago
  • The ability to track actual ferry schedule/performance and capacity via my third party app (Ferry Friends) or WSF website.
    • Being able to ask "when is the next boat departing from Fauntleroy?" or how many slots are available on the PD ferry now?" would be huge!
    • Having it be able to consider my current location, speed, traffic, etc, to tell me that I can make the next sailing, but only if I drive like a maniac, would be mind-blowing, along with being a safety multiplier for me and nearby motorists and pedestrians. 🤣

Just set mine up and noticed an issue with Google calendars as well. My account has multiple calendars associated with it (default, family, etc.) but Rivian seems to only sync with the default calendar. I'd rather not duplicate and merge everything into one calendar as that gets quite cumbersome to manage. Hopefully they'll also be implementing a way to select which calendar(s) within a single account get synced, as well as support for multiple accounts (personal, work). But looks promising so far in my limited five minute test.
The calendar integration is so limited it's laughable.

1. Only one calendar -- Even my in-laws, who are generally not tech-savvy, have more than one calendar.

2. Only works with Google -- my family's all on the Apple ecosystem and we have all sorts of shared calendars and calendar subscriptions there that are not practical to move to Google.

3. I use Google for work, so that should work with Rivian, right? Wrong, because not only does it only work with the primary calendar, as you pointed out, but it only works with a single Google account. I have 5 different Google accounts for different businesses I'm involved with.

Tesla has worked with all of my calendars for years. It's really nice to get in the Tesla and have it automatically load up the next destination regardless of what calendar it's on.

I issued one comment - "Hey Rivian, turn off AC."

That resulted in 7 boops and beeps: 2 to acknowledge the wake word, 4 to confirm the command and action, and a final beep to timeout the follow-up listening.

Definitely feels a bit too much like talking to a star wars droid, and this is coming from someone who loves star wars droids!

Your command failed. This worked for me. I was also able to set it to a specific temperature.

How did it fail? It successfully performed the action I asked. It just makes a lot of sounds doing it.

What you experienced was not normal. Not sure why it did that.

I am assuming I am just missing something, and it IS already capable, but after I successfully sent a voice to text message, Rivian didnt notify me of the reply, or any other incoming messages... I asked Rivian if it could do that, and it said my notifications were already enabled. I don't seem to get any visual or audio cue that an incoming text has been received... Anyone happen to know what I am missing?

Exact same thing happened with me. I have message notifications turned on. I was able to send a text via Assistant, which sent fine. But the response I got back a few seconds later only showed up on my phone, I never got a notification from Assistant that I got a text message.

Texting needs some work but I'm glad they finally have it. Basic punctuation isn't happening, it's just a long, run on sentence.

I feel the same, this is v1.0, it'll get better.

I'm used to narrating my text messages with punctuation. So I tend to say: "I'll be home a 6pm period what do you want for dinner question mark" And it seems to work across most voice recognition systems.

I tried that and it put the words "period" and "question mark" in my text. :)
