I called Rivian service and asked Rivian care( Its under Insurance ) .

Same and recently had the comprehensive inspection at Rivian and got a clean bill of health.

So I’ll likely remain locked out even once this comes to Virginia since I didn’t purchase my one-owner, pre-owned R1T from Rivian. Again, bummer especially considering it’s still fully covered under the factory warranty.

I just tried to purchase a xcare warranty, and was told the no longer will right policies for California a Rivian owners. Due to California laws. Does anyone know a company that will write policies?

Each state has its own laws regarding insurance, warranties, etc. It takes time to get his set up in every state.

I found out today that people who are the second owner are not eligible for coverage.

That’s what Rivian told me last week, even though my used R1S is under the factory warranty and was purchased used directly from Rivian (RPO).

Me: “I’d like to pay y’all $6k for my car’s extended warranty that we both hope I don’t have to use.”

Rivian: “No.” (Paraphrased from polite business-speak.)

I’ve been looking to see if this announcement changes that, and I’ve got a few thousand miles left on the factory warranty.

I requested the comprehensive inspection and a quote for the Rivian Care extended warranty through the service button in the app.

The AI chatbot connected me to a human chat-person, and then the person told me through the chat that my vehicle wasn’t eligible for a Rivian Care extended warranty.

As far as I can tell this is how you’re supposed to do it.
