Rivian does not follow charging settings

I have a 2025 Gen 2 R1S and as of lately- perhaps the last app update, my car does not automatically start charging at 9pm as it is set to do and as it has in the past. Additionally it seems the app on my iPhone no longer will keep a connection with the car unless I wake it up.. for example the range will show 56% until I unlock the doors and then it will update to 70% if that’s where I charged to. Currently every day I want to charge I have to go down to the car and wake it up - unplug it and re plug it in so it will start charging… has never done this before.

Have you done a reboot?

There seems to be no limit to the range of problems that are at least temporarily solved by rebooting.

I consistently have connection problems with my Gen 2 R1S and iPhone. Charging schedule does work OK, but I get a red cloud often. opening a door and waking R1S does not always get it connected to iPhone. WiFi and cellular on Rivian shows OK. Sometimes swiping the app off my phone and then opening it back up works, but last night I had to reset my iPhone to get it to talk to the R1S. Manually resetting (hard reset) Rivian usually works, but I'm frustrated at how often I can't communicate to Rivian from my phone. Often when sitting in a restaurant I can't connect to turn on climate control before returning. Ugh !!

Sorry, I guess this is more of a connection problem rant that a charging schedule comment - my charging schedule always seems to work whether or not the phone is connected to the Rivian.

Hard reset. Re-test.

You can report software bugs directly to Rivian, through your mobile app, scrolled to "share feedback".

For Gen2, there is apparently a hotfix being beta tested now on cloud connectivity. That might have affected your charge schedule and limit settings.

This was an issue for me recently and it was cleaned up with a reboot.

My R1S has this problem when the vehicle is connected via my home wifi. The vehicle only intermittently connects to the wifi network. For me, the problem is easily solved by turning off the vehicle wifi, and using its cellular connection instead.

I'm not sure what they did with the update but my phone (iphone and Samsung) went from being overly sensitive unlocking the truck to 50% of the time not even registering it at all. Then I have to go thru the process of turning Bluetooth off/on, waking the vehicle manually, etc. Plus, the schedule charging is not all screwed up. No matter the scheduled times it won't charge at all on time but charges normally if I tell it to "charge now".

It's infuriating cuz I want the truck to charge in the morning before I drive to warm the battery and now schedule charging is screwed. Ive reset, turned off/on the schedule button (plugged in and unplugged), and the only thing I haven't done yet is unplug the portable charger from power if THAT needs to be reset for some reason.

Guess I'm just voicing my frustrations but if anybody has any insight, let me know
