They will be making their own motors though, as planned, so it makes sense that they would look at other ways to amortize the cost of development and production across other areas that align with their specific branding.interesting. i guess getting into electric engines of all sorts of adventure vehicles would fall in line with their DNA. wouldnt be surprised to see motorcycles, carts, ATVs, jet skis, bikes at some point but seems weird they would start with a boat engine instead of a truck/van engine when they dont even make their own engines for the R1 or EDV now.
My first thought!Sorry, can’t help it, it’s too obvious.
R1T-inder??
Damn it! I keep swiping right on it, but nothing happens!Sorry, can’t help it, it’s too obvious.

To me, it makes perfect sense. Instead of entering an existing market to compete, they are starting a market to lead. Other than fishing/trolling motors, I don't know of anyone making boat specific electric drive trains?... seems weird they would start with a boat engine instead of a truck/van engine when they dont even make their own engines for the R1 or EDV now.
These guys have been making electric boat motors for at least a few years. Been offering high and high power motors. To me, it makes perfect sense. They’re pretty much the only ones. Merciry had previously announced electric outboards by 2023These guys have been making electric boat motors for at least a few years. Been offering high and high power motors.

Definitely not starting a market. Simply tagging along. To me, it makes perfect sense. Instead of entering an existing market to compete, they are starting a market to lead. Other than fishing/trolling motors, I don't know of anyone making boat specific electric drive trains?
