The puns practically write themselves! What a bunch of Dads. haha

Motor Trend drove R1T from coast to coast off-road on the TAT. Long way up used them to drive off-road from South America to LA. There are lots of stories of people using these trucks as intended off-road.

I'm not sure how many people on this forum have driven truly off-road, but the amount of chassis flex and sharp jolts to the vehicle would expose any flaws in the glass or the design, imo.

I agree with the person who said unfortunately some people just have bad luck. This forum represents a small sampling of Rivian owners so far and of those I have only seen a handful of reports and mostly front windshields.

I think it's worth starting a thread to monitor glass issues if there isn't one already just to see how deep this truly goes.

edited to add @JohnnyRico's trip over Imogene pass. Certainly enough flex to induce broken glass if the chassis design was suspect. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/r1t-over-imogene-pass-co.8622/

I have had my rear window replaced 3 times now. The first time was due to some scratches on the glass that I noticed upon delivery. Rivian replaced it without question. A month later we got a big rain and I opened my gear tunnel to find water everywhere. They apparently did not seal the window correctly. Went back for another 2 weeks to replace the window again. They found that the adhesive had not cured properly and created a channel for water flow. Just got back the other day and all seems water tight now. My 2 cents would be to water test after they replace it. For me it could only be replicated by drenching the roof and then driving around.

Check your blower...a couple of ryobi battery powered blowers have had pieces of the fanblade break off....maybe that hit the glass at 80 mph.

Oh boy, here I was thinking at least now it looks like it should keep any rain out. Who knew I may have to confirm after its replaced.

Look at it this way. You don't have to decorate for halloween now, just add a fake spider to the rear window and folks will think you're way ahead of the season!

I've taken my R1T through the car wash twice so far and no issues but seeing this makes me a little nervous as to how delicate is the glass both roof and rear. I would assume if the vehicle is not meant to go through a car wash there would not be a car wash mode.
