Yes, but you could power your phones (or charging pads) both from the splitter and use the other port of the dash cam.

Here is my setup. Formatted and is recognized.

What did you use to mount this? The Velcro approach I used isn't holding up too well.

I used velcro to mount it, and so far so good. I put one side of the velcro stuck to the reader and the other side actually stuck to the wall, then just connected the two pieces of velcro.

For my Tesla dashcam function 4 years ago. Its still going strong. Not sure write cycles are a concern. Its super low profile so no angles etc were needed in the Tesla and I think can be avoided here.

I bought this exact same cable intending to use it to allow the use of two MagSafe charging pucks AND a USB-C flash drive in the center console. Doesn't work. This does: Charging splitter cable on Amazon. I plugged the MagSafe pucks into the two connectors marked with the USB symbol (the other connector is for power IN, not OUT). I then plugged my USB-C drive into the other USB-C socket in the console.

EDIT: The above cable recommendation is bad - don't buy (phone indicates it's charging but it actually isn't)
