The first time, they stated something about a harness or connector, and it was replaced. The second time, they said it was the compressor, and they removed and replaced it. We will see what they say this time.
I think the SLC Rivian service center is just overwhelmed. I wouldn’t be surprised if they made a mistake repairing it. There seems to be a lot of chaos at all levels within the organization.

Sorry to hear your experience, everyone on here says Rivian will make it right...I hope that's the case for you.

Rivian should follow option 1. That is the legal approach. They give some people reduced grandfathered pricing and now those people just keep wanting more and that price response card for new vehicles. No gratitude.
I fully understand this. It’s more of a thought exercise that comes to mind during these discussions. I didn’t get pre-order pricing myself so it won’t apply to me anyways. Guess it’s just my engineering brain running through every scenario trying to come up with worst case situations.

I've wondered about this. What happens when you lemon a Gen1 R1S Quad at preorder pricing. In California, lemon law is very consumer friendly but still.
  1. I'm sure refund is the MSRP you paid, which would suck at preorder pricing.
  2. What if I want to get a replacement Rivian, am I to:
    1. Take a Dual motor Standard as replacement
    2. Will they replace with equivalent trim.
      1. Would it be a Gen 2 Tri which is the spiritual equivalent to Gen 1 Quad
      2. Would it by lemon law be Gen 2 Quad for "like for like" equivalent.
I'm guessing Rivian would just follow minimum requirement for lemon law which would be option 1 at refund preorder pricing. But that leaves us as a customer out of our Rivian and into potentially a used one, which again by lemon law it should be replaced with an equivalent new as a "fresh start"
Lemon law and insurance definitely go by what you paid, which is the reduced MSRP pricing.
