Tail lights keep blinking

Believe this is happening to me (just started though). Truck was sleeping fine through the day, I went into the garage to move some things around before bed, and suddenly the tail lights started blinking. Truck hasn’t gone to sleep since (it’s usually very quick to go to sleep). Tried turning off Bluetooth on my phone- same issue. Will be monitoring. Oddly I have a service appointment in 1 week so might be adding this to that ticket.

(Re: the pic - 1033 pm (MDT) is when the problem started for me. It’s 1120 pm as I write this)

Same issue for me started late Friday evening

• Vehicle wouldn't sleep
• Relay clicking somewhere under dash when unoccupied
• Taillights blinking
• High VD
• Also noticed driver seat abnormally warm after being unoccupied for several hours in the garage
• 12V battery alert Sunday evening

Truck is now at the service center (grand opening of the Hayward, CA location!). They're starting with a 12V battery replacement. We'll see if it's anything more than a 12V battery failure.

Quick update from me:
SC replaced the 12V battery. Tail light blinking still persists after replacement and they need to keep the truck to further diagnose. I was told it’s potentially software related but still TBD. Still on software 2025.18.01

just noticed something odd, the mobile eye camera seems to be emitting an IR light or is just cycling on and off in the windshield. It cycles on, then off right before the partial blink, then on, then full blink, then back on. caught it on my garage cam. maybe it has something to do with the driver+ not sleeping, and hallucinating and flashing the brake lights as a result

Second day today I noticed my cab is at 91 after being parked all night. It's about 80 in my garage. Didn't charge yesterday, it did today. Not sure how much heat being awake generates but seems high. Highest temp I found was under the driver's seat

If it's responsive to turning off your phone, yours might just be PaaK.

Does your truck go to sleep? Are you getting a relay clicking from the driver's side fuse panel area?

Yes I have the clicking, although apparently it's back this morning with the phone powered down.

This is going to be a major issue. I am of the belief now, based on how widespread this issue is, that my 12v replacement two days ago was fixing a symptom and not addressing the problem. I have two service tickets in now with one appointment booked for September. Message into SC explaining the issue and requesting urgent fix. Not looking forward to another 8 hour round trip to the SC! Rivian needs to step things up in service ASAP!

The next morning - interesting; looks like the truck has tried to sleep several times, but never for more than 1 minute. Still flashing.

It appears to be eating over 8 kWh per day. I’m headed to the airport for 7 days and normally arrive at less than 40% state of charge. At this rate I’ll come back to a dead pack.

Yeah... I wouldn't leave it ar the airport parking lot as is... If you even charge up your battery, the chances of the vehicle shutting down completely to protect the 12'v charging circuit are really high

Same here. I also had 2 full front light bar flashes randomly last night. Blinky boi is blowing up my garage cam notifications

I’m fortunate to have a separate car I can take. Not everyone is. And this appears to be a Rivian self inflicted issue. Unfortunate.
