With the latest actions at Tesla related to NACS and supercharging I see all partners keeping CCS and using an adapter this way they are not stuck. the current Rivian way is preferred. I don't see CCS going away.

Read thread. They were never stuck. NACS is now a SAE standard, not anchored to Tesla. Google and learn about SAE J3400.

And how many superchargers and equipment exist that are not Tesla? 0.0.

also when Tesla has to give you access to the SC network it makes no sense change the plug. We will be back where CCS is now. The advantage of NACS is access to the SC network. Plain and simple.

It's not zero, but it may as well be. I'm not referring to the EVGo style that's just a captive CHAdeMO adapter either.

EVgo already has NACS chargers in the wild. Of non-Tesla manufacture. And not just the CHAdeMO conversions.

Yes. Getting to one style of plug. Heck even diesel and gasoline pump nozzles share the same basic "form factor."

But in the short term, enjoy your Rivian-supplied adapter to use Tesla Superchargers. Like the ever-popular and critically needed one in Moab, UT. Still a head-scratcher why there's no RAN in Moab.

LOL nope. RIP CCS. NACS (SAE J3400) is a much better plug. It was better than CCS1 back in 2012 when Tesla proposed it to SAE but the other auto manufacturers didn't want the extra cost per vehicle, and they outvoted Tesla's design. Tesla said f-it and did their own thing since they were wanting to launch the Model S. The SAE DCFC standard was ratified afterwards.

To be fair, the Tesla implementation of NACS is great. There's no guarantee it will be great for other charging networks. It's still using CCS as the protocol and could have the same reliability issues as their CCS connector chargers.

the plug (CCS vs. NACS) isn't what makes a charging location great. It's the charging units.
