For those of you using these adapters on Tesla's destination chargers, do you need to sign up with an account and use an app? How are you accessing and paying?

All the destination chargers I've used were free. Drive up, plug in and they automatically start charging.

I want them to fix the TeslaTap Mini so it is reliably compatible with the R1T. Size wise it is my preferred option, but I haven't bought one, yet, because of the reports of fitment issues.

Funny you ask, we’re currently road tripping from Colorado to Texas and back. Our R1T is actively charging in a driveway using this Tesla to J1772

We’ve only used it at level 1 speeds so far, but it does work!

One thing to note when using this adapter, or at least the one we received. When initially plugging the adapter in to the truck after plugging the powered end into the adapter. The truck’s charging port light will glow red like there’s an error, the truck will renegotiate with the charger and charging works like normal after that.
I've had a little different experience with it. Works just as you described on public chargers (going green to red and back to green again). Never had an issue with L1 chargers. However, L2 chargers are completely hit or miss. Seems like half of them error out and never actually charge. So just keep an eye on it to make sure it reengages correctly before you walk away and assume it will. Did that at a hotel once before I realized how irregular it was.

I bought the 80 AMP capable TeslaTap mini for my incoming Ford Lightning, but sent it back. I read about fitment issues with these and plugged it on the end of my Tesla charger and then spent nearly an hour getting it off. It's made out of Delrin, a good strong plastic material that resists changes due to heat and is resistant to chemicals and UV. But their machining quality and overall build quality are just not there for the price. I ended up ordering the Lectron after that. Have not tried it as I don't have the truck just yet.

I have been using the Lectron adapter since May. Works flawlessly. My wife has a Tesla Y and I use the Tesla mobile charger (using the Lectron adapter on the Rivian) to charge both vehicles. The Tesla mobile yields a couple more mph charge than my Rivian mobile charger.

Looks like the new updated version is available.

The fitment issue was documented some time ago. I waited. Noticed the revised one was available about 10 days ago.

Ordered, received and tested to work fine.

I assume they're talking about L2 (not DCFC), we run into a ton of freebies, though it's the facility that's offering the charger.

One of our standard destinations is Universal Studios, and the 3 higher tier hotels all have free charging - a mix of [mostly] Tesla specific L2s with a few J-connector EVSEs, installed by the resorts themselves (so nothing to do with Tesla).

Since those Tesla L2s don't require any kind of billing mechanism, I'd assume they'd work with an adapter on a Rivian - I'll let you know in a month or two :D

Pretty nice, a ~260 mile round trip costs about $4 in the M3P (1/2 of the trip is "free" :) )

Have you noticed if the higher charge rate with the Tesla cable is consistent? If so what is your average rate?

I have spare Tesla mobile cable and I've been toying with the idea of getting Lectron adapter to use at my vacation home. My Rivian portable cable is just too slow.

Yes, it is consistent. Usually shows 14.5 mph in app vs 12.5 with Rivian mobile charger. The Rivian charger has been in my frunk since I received the Lectron adapter.

This one, that one and the other one.

The Lectron actually delivered more power to my truck (1 MPH more) with a Tesla wall charger than does my Rivian wall charger. The Rivian charger is cleaner without an adapter hanging off of it and not going to complain about just a 1 MPH difference, but was surprised to see that the Tesla charger with a Lectron adapter was able to run more juice through it than the Rivian charger with no adapters.
