Does anyone else have the Tesla Universal Charger setup with the scheduled charging configured on the charger itself and have noticed issues with connecting it to their R1T?

I've only had my R1T for a few days, but it seems like the first time I connect the charger outside of the scheduled charging hours, the charge port will illuminate red and throw an error with charger message. If I unplug it and plug it back it, it will then display waiting for charger which is what I expect to happen until the schedule kicks in.

What happens if you leave it plugged in and ignore the red charging port error? I am assuming you have the schedule set on the Rivian. In many instances you will see that red flashing charge port and then it will start charging after.

If for some reason that doesn't work, another option is to set charging schedule on the Tesla charger itself and not on the Rivian.

How many times have you used it? Did you get the correct firmware from Tesla for it? I had to call and get the right item pushed for the charger and then it worked.

From my earlier adventures:

How to fix your Tesla Universal Wall Charger when it won't charge your Non-tesla or Rivian?

Call 8779617652 - Tesla Home Charging Team #3 on the menu

Told them it was this update: HEAD (3CAE3FBA856679)-3cae3fb

And I was trying to charge a non-Tesla - AKA Rivian R1S

They knew exactly the issue - asked for the TPN and TSN on the charger or on the leaflet that came with the charger.

Told me to wait an hour - I waited 2. Then I turned the power breaker off and on again. Plugged it in - green light charging. Will obviously check back if it only works this time but - that's progress.

First make sure you have the right firmware as mentioned.

I have my universal Tesla charger set to charge between 12am-7:30am.

I have my Rivian set to charge between 12:30am - 7am.

I plug it in when I get home around 8pm. There are all kinds of errors that I see until 12:30am when the car starts charging. It does charge reliably every single time.

Check the firmware on your Tesla Charger, and ensure its set to universal, vs tesla only.

I have a Tesla charger I had installed in 2020, I only set the schedule on the Rivian and have never had a problem, don’t even know if I can set the charger.

Don't be impatient, let it sync for a minute. Mine does this, but always starts in a minute or less.
