That's a lot of damage
The Chilewich mats aren’t as thin as I had thought - they have a felt-like backing too. Water seems to collect “into” the mats and doesn’t seep through to the carpet. The mats also seem to have fabric edges, which would provide some barrier to water just shedding off. Time will tell how well this experiment works, but I owe it to Billy Mays’ legacy to at least try!Feels like shoveling in a snowstorm, no?
Wouldn’t the now waterproof Chilewich matts with zero edge simply shed water off to the perimeter carpet?
I didn’t come for this lifehack, but dagnabbit, I’m totally here for it.For the ultimate protection, you can use LinerX as a backing. The snaps come apart and allow a second mat to be added so they stay connected together.
