He lost me when he said that 8k miles is a fifth of the normal wear. Most tires I have owned need to be replaced around the 25k mark.

I have 12k miles on my R1S, rotate the tires twice and have been told doing fine no worries at all. BMW I4 is the same. People need to learn how to drive. No reason to accelerate hard into every on and off ramp.

True…

But ….It sure is fun to just absolutely smoke everyone off the ramp.

I have the 22’s and I think I could get to 23k miles before needing a replacement. Currently just under 20k but I already ordered replacements. Going with an A/T tire this time.

You see reports from 15k to 30k in this forum. I'm at 14k r1s 21" and only have 4/32 left. Rotated once at 7500 miles with all even wears. Don't think I have more than 5k miles left in it. This is my wife main car and she drives slow with all purpose 95% of the time. So the tire wears is hard to explain.

Just replaced my 22" OEM Pirelli All Seasons at 28k. Regular rotations at 5-7.5k miles, tread was down to 3/32" and 4/32" across the board. Mostly just every day driving use on the tires.

Now running Continental Terrain Contact A/Ts.

@COdogman is not far off.
6 Pirelli ATs got me 20k (barely). Pic is of the "best" tire on new tire day.
Rivian R1T R1S Tire wear - how soon are people changing them? 81540-1ff7e74919428d7e050b659112e46fa

Rotated every 5k, 80% All-Purpose, 20% All-Terrain, 99% standard ride height, no alignment issues, just crappy tires.

Replaced with Toyo Open Country AT3, very happy with these tires.

15k on the front because I live in a city with a bunch of traffic circles. I've replaced the front set twice so far.

I had one of the earlier R1Ts with 20" in 8/22. I drove it like a maniac, letting all my friends peel out, taking turns at 70mph, and having a lot of fun :). I did that for the first year I had it - unknowingly in "conserve mode." I had to replace the tires at about 15K. Now, I drive MUCH slower, better, and in AP mode. I bet these last twice as long now. Big O Tires replaced them did a great job.

At 20k and about to swap my 20s. But, that’s for increased range/decreased road noise. Still have decent tread on them. Going to go to AS tires.

27k on the all terrains and I’ve never rotated them. They probably still have 5-10k left for rubber, but because they’re too loud for me I’m getting rid of them soon.

Absolutely agree with you here. I have 26k on my 20" ATs and they are so loud now compared to when they were new. It's a matter of trying to stretch a few more miles out of the tires (probably at best 5k more) or buy a pair of earplugs because any driving below 50mph is so loud, particularly between 35 and 50, which is mostly local driving. Highway's i'm fine as the roar becomes a hum at high speeds. I bought another set of the Perelli's from an R1S owner close buy who swapped his out for Michelins with only 300 miles on the ATs. Sitting in the garage until i finally decide the roar is too much to handle. Surprisingly the wife has not complained yet, but i know it's coming!

OEM 21s changed at 24,000 miles (changed at Rivian service center; price for four new tires installed was about $2200). One tire rotation at 16,000 miles. Fairly aggressive driving, with lots of changing among drive modes and suspension heights. Not much driving in conserve mode.

I got just over 20k out of the AT’s with mostly in town stop and go driving. Looking forward to new Nitto ridge grapplers next week.

R1T OEM 20s, 20K+ miles, rotated twice at 8K and 16K.

From the looks of things, I am guessing that I'll get over 30K for this set of tires. I haven't measured, but tread is definitely >5/32. My driving is probably average aggressiveness, I've done launch mode maybe a half dozen times, but the truck is almost always in AP mode.

Read an article about people needing to change tires fairly frequently on EVs.

What have all of you observed? I have the 21” road tires.

Here’s the article:

https://gizmodo.com/florida-ev-buyers-shocked-to-learn-their-cars-eat-tires-1851197019#:~:text=Tire mileage can vary widely,ve never bought the car.
21's with 15k on mine and looking good, minimal wear. I am hoping to get to 30k+ and hoping there will be more options by then (see other tire threads if you haven't already).
