Lucked out and my wife had the key card I gave her and never used in her purse. Thinking of keep a card in a hitch safe going forward. Will never trust phone as a key only again

Extremely concerning that key card is not working. That is supposed to be the failsafe. Not sure how that could be related to the app issues so curious to know what Rivian tells you about that. Also, good luck, hope your couch is comfortable.

Any reason you folks who weren't carrying the card with you previously decided not to? Even in the Tesla's I've owned, I always had the key card in my wallet. And the phone did stop working on a few occasions. Once was the Tesla's incident, another was a specific location (happened multiple times at this location) where high-power antennas somehow interfered with the signal from phone to get in. Thankfully the card worked.

or what about if you lose your phone or drop it, or it runs out of juice? Seems like too many variables with the phone that warrant always carrying the key card with you. It's so slim and easy to have on you at all times.

Ya know - I did keep a Tesla card with me for a year or so - but after 5 years of not ever needing it, I kinda thought this was a not important anymore.
This is an issue that needs to be addressed.
I mean, the phone worked for me in the past when I didn't even have cell service, so why do I need to relogin to the app to drive my fricken truck?? I am beside myself with anger at the situation...

So, my business is in home automation/networking/custom integration. We are now seeing a fallout of multiple of our 'remote access' platforms right now. I strongly think this issue is not limited to Rivian, but is a broader issue.

Not sure if it is related, but Comtrash, I mean Comcast, had huge issues today. DNS was failing all over the US. You could ping the DNS servers but lookups failed.

One thing I’ve noticed is that the sensor location for keycard access seems kind of sensitive. I’ve had to hold the keycard flat against the door handle and sloooowly slide it back and forth along the handle until it communicated. Has she already tried this?
