Anyone else having issues with their USB C ports not working from the center console? My wireless charging pad is intermittent at best as well, but I know that's been an ubiquitous issue. Pretty frustrating having the car for about a week and already a couple issues, not to mention the cost of the vehicle.

Welcome to the club! Can you provide a little more information? Are you trying to charge your phone with a cord or charge something else? Which phone? Rivian makes it pretty clear that the USB C ports in the vehicle are ONLY for phone charging and don't have the power for other devices. Also - the ports in the center console is where you put your USB drive to capture Gear Guard and dashcam videos.

We both have iPhones and didn't make it a week with the R1S before we added the TWraps MagSafe Charging Pad. The phone just wouldn't stay put in the "sweet spot" on the Rivian charger.

I once rented a Rivian on Turo with the exact same problem and the owner said he already had a scheduled SC visit for it...so about the only thing I know is that you won't be the first with that issue. Best of luck!

Ugh - I was really hoping you were trying to charge a MacBook or something like that. It's got to be frustrating (and the Shelton SC can't open soon enough for you). I'm guessing that the other ports in the 2nd row aren't working either. My iPhone doesn't have MagSafe so I run a 4' cord from one of the chargers back there if I need to charge my phone.

You may be stuck with plugging in a wall charger in the outlet below the screen in the 2nd row and running your cords from there until you can get the other ports fixed. If you do that remember that you have to turn on the outlets for it to work.

Have you tried the other USB-C ports on the back of the headrests or under the 2nd row screen?

My wife and daughter both always have dead iPhone batteries and utilize a USBC to lightning cable for charging so it should work.

Definitely put in a service ticket for this issue to be addressed.

With all that said....the mag safe pad from twraps is an excellent solution for wireless charging!

My center console usb-c ports don't work either. Tried chargers and setting up a memory card. All the other usb-c ports work, and my charging pad works. Set up a service center visit for later in January after doing a recommended reboot to see if it fixed the problem.

I would try the cable that came with the phone. Some cables will give you an error if they aren't iPhone certified.

We have a USB-C cable connected to the center console that my wife uses and it charges for her. I lay my iPhone 14Pro on the charging pad and it charges....not as fast as if I used the cable, but it is ok, I don't look at my phone while I am driving.

It’s not the cable…I’ve tried several, including the apple branded one. They all work in the other usb ports in the car, just not in the center console.

I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot it entirely, but I have 1 port and a splitter, and both cables from that will charge my phone (Pixel 7), and neither will charge my wife's phone (Pixel 5). I really can't explain why, but I intend to test it out with and without the splitter and also see if I can find a good way to get the amps being provided in the circumstances.

Yeah mine didn’t work from delivery. They will have to do it in the service center involved removing the center console.

Literally the only service call I've had was for this issue. Essentially, the usb-c ports were not properly connected at the factory. It was a simple fix via remove service call.

Until the service call, my work-around was to use a longer usb-c cable and plug it into the rear center console ports.

I have a mobile service call setup in a couple weeks. Hopefully it's a similar issue...cars were probably built the same day!

Just be advised that the 1st service technician didn't actually take the center console apart to confirm the usb-c cable was properly connected; all he did was confirm the connection was bad, so he ordered the part and said it would take a 2nd service call to replace it.

The 2nd service technician took apart the center console to replace the part and informed me it was simply a matter of the usb-c cable was not properly connected at the factory. SMH

So, make sure your service technician confirms that it was properly connected at the factory.

FWIW, it did work for a few weeks after delivery but it eventually wiggled loose with use I guess since it wasn't *firmly* connected at the factory.
