What will you name your Rivian?

I thought I would ask a fun question as we wait for more details to be released.

A lot of people, myself included, name their vehicles for a variety of reasons. I’ve done this with virtually every vehicle I’ve owned and will do so again with my R1T.

I’ve currently got Launch Green configured as my color option and plan on having an unapologetically fun time driving it. I’m leaning towards LOKI, marvel god of mischief that also shares a green color palette, but still deciding.

My backup color is El Cap Granite but I haven’t put much thought into that yet.

I think there's something in the app or system where you are supposed to give it a name. There is also the wifi hotspot name.

Plus, it feels like half the people on here own two, so in their household saying "the rivian" would get confusing...

I have never named a vehicle before, but I did name my FG/FE R1S Adventure "Riviandell".

I call her “June” MidnightRivian R1S

I locked her on June and also took delivery in June for an explosive End of Quarter production efforts.

June is now special to me forever.

I have always named my vehicles going back to high school. I guess it's an only child thing. I lean toward people names. We currently have three vehicles. All have names.

Our Rivian R1T Explore isn't due until the first half of 2023, and that's with a November, 2018 order date. I usually have to get my hands on the vehicle before bestowing a name on it. I have never ordered a vehicle and waited 5 years for delivery before. I am leaning toward "Petunia" as a name for the R1T.

Even though we were originally contemplating the name "Petunia" for our Rivian, we ultimately decided to name her "Opal". We have now had Opal for about three months and are enjoying her immensely.
