Maybe this is a little bit of an odd question, but which R2 colors do people think look best when the vehicle is a little bit dirty?

While I plan to be good about washing the R2 if I buy, it will likely be parked outdoors for most of its life, so it will often look less than pristine. Which colors hold up the best in this circumstance?

Any thoughts?

Based on past cars, I'd say silver seems to be one of the best at hiding dirt.

I think medium-dark low-metallic colors do fairly well too. For example, my Launch Green R1S does pretty good. You can tell the dirt is there, but somehow it's not dramatically different when you wash it like most darker metallic cars are.

Like any car, silver & gray are the best. Launch Green should be a solid bet as well. White actually does really well as long as you don’t accidentally wipe a clean spot on a dirty white car. 🤣 Midnight and Forest Green are the worst, but i do love Forest Green.

No, I like your thinking! It certainly influenced our getting El Cap and that has been better than our white, black, and blue vehicles.

I don't know which would be better, a lighter silver or a darker grey, but I suspect that a lighter silver would be best at hiding dust/dirt/pollen from our experience of owning a few silver cars.

I had a silver and then dark gray Audi A6 back-to-back. In Minnesota winters, Silver was definitely better at hiding dirt/dust.

I have the El Cap color on my R1T, it's been great at staying (mostly) clean without tons of carwashes. I ordered the Esker Silver R2, planning to replace the R1T, hoping for similar. I was expecting 8-12 week timeline per Rivian, then just received an email saying its in pre-production. I'll share pics on the forum once it comes in, have only seen a few photo's online of the R2 in silver.

SIlver has alway won the “hide the dirt” contest on any vehicle. Old man beige/gold is up there also of course, since it’s basically metallic dirt color, but NO ONE should subject themselves to that 🤣

I love the color name “half moon grey”. There is a nice seaside community close to Silicon Valley called “Half Moon Bay”
