AC charging does not work. DC charging does work. Seems to drive okay. First available service appointment is a month out.

With Rivian (reasonably) closed today, I can't ask for their opinion. So I'll ask all of you?

Would you be willing to drive a vehicle with this on the screen?

No I would not drive it unless its to the service center. Call Rivian service.

I wouldn’t because
a) for safety reason &
b) if something indeed happens, chance for not being covered under warranty goes up.

Well for a quick update - the vehicle was able to get my extended family to Christmas Church and then to the airport without any drama.

And at 9:00am this morning Rivian called me to say that they don't want me to wait until the next available appointment (next month) and that I should come in today. A few minutes after that I got an email from Enterprise confirming a rental.

Sucks that the car failed on Christmas eve when everything was going to be closed for 2 days, but Rivian gets an A+ for taking care of me as soon as could reasonably be expected and the vehicle gets an B+ for not leaving me stranded despite having some sort of major fault.

Fingers crossed that they can fix it quickly as I am sure whatever Enterprise gives me is going to be a POS.

Good outcome. I think the way that Rivian service works is that you book something through the app, then appointments are triaged manually by staff to determine urgency. If they hadn't gotten back to you today, I would hav called the main service number directly so they could have escalated. Hope you get your ride back soon!

I was wrong. They gave me a R1T. They can take as long as they want to fix!

That was my first thought too. I need to come up with a list of things to do to take advantage of the pickup bed while I have it.

Based on the drive home I am really liking the T. If I had the opportunity to spend time with both before ordering my S, I might have gotten the T.
