Yay! Santa Nella RAN Rivian charging station is OPEN!

Be careful. The vehicle nav routed me through the brand-new Santa Nella RAN on Monday, December 18. Three of the six were powered on, but none of them were actually set up. Fortunately, we have sufficient range to continue.

The screen lights up, and they look great. Plug into the vehicle, and after 20 seconds or so just says error and won't charge. These should not have appeared as functioning, but hopefully, they are set up and working very soon. Note to be mindful.

Looks like it is back online today. I’ve seen it fluctuate on available units so it must be working again.

Just charged at Santa Nella. No idea why it's not on plugshare but it's working great.

Santa Nella charging station worked great on Saturday Dec 23, very dog friendly area near the hotel.

And while I didn’t charge at them myself, there were two excellent pull through Rivian charging stations for those pulling a trailer

Don't forget arriving at your destination with some usable range.

Arriving to your vacation spot with 30 miles left isn't useful. Arriving back home with 30 miles is fine since you're coming home and can likely charge.

That was my concern when I did my first long-ish trip. "Oh I only need to charge once, maybe twice for less than 25 minutes each". That's awesome!

Then you realize you get to your destination with not much charge. I had to find a Chargepoint late at night so I'd have range for the next day's activities.

I generally try to find lodging with a charger. A J1772 or Tesla destination charger makes for a more pleasant experience and a lot of places support it.
