I hope they go back online soon. Was planning on using them on Thursday. Last Saturday it was showing all 6 online. Sunday & Monday, only 3 were online. This evening…”status unknown” on all 6 chargers.

I had a horrible experience on I-5 during July 4th weekend.
Very hot days, significant % of EA chargers malfunctioned.
2.5 hrs wait (while watching Tesla stations having no problems), then after 30 mins charging, it stopped charging (due to overheating I think)

Buttonwillow and this location provides peace of mind for folks up traveling between LA & SF.

I am wishing Rivian puts a couple more on Hwy 101 and Pacific Hwy 1.

That was fast. It was announced I believe in June/July and now it is online. The Buttonwillow sat for over 2 years before it went live. I know it has a lot to do with permitting, but less than 4 or 5 months.....nice.

The EA's in Kettleman City are nice and those are the ones we used when we drove to SoCal in September.

Have been waiting for this one, the missing piece on I-5.

I was there on 12/18/23. Plugged into all stations without success, FYI. After authorizing..... it flips to MAINTENANCE REQUIRED. Have relayed to Rivian support.

Just need Firebaugh to come online too and there will be 3 options. Just need 1 of them to make it 360 miles with my 352 mile range car.

I needed one more charge from Buttonwillow to my house because I have AT tires, which Santa Nella will do but agreed with you on an extra option.

Don't forget arriving at your destination with some usable range.

Arriving to your vacation spot with 30 miles left isn't useful. Arriving back home with 30 miles is fine since you're coming home and can likely charge.

That was my concern when I did my first long-ish trip. "Oh I only need to charge once, maybe twice for less than 25 minutes each". That's awesome!

Then you realize you get to your destination with not much charge. I had to find a Chargepoint late at night so I'd have range for the next day's activities.

I believe any of the 3 will allow you to add enough to leave 30-60 miles of range at the destination. Santa Nella won't work for going south to Anaheim though. LA and north would be doable.

If they open up the RAN in San Bernardino, I can stop at all RAN going to Phoenix which I go often.

6 mile detour :-( But it's a good location.

I have used the Shell Recharge at the Motel 6 successfully. Less detour, but it took a few tries to get it going. And no bathroom use at the hotel...

Anyone use Santa Nella RAN today? Showing as “unavailable” but route planner still routing me there. Chatted with support and they don't have any more info.
