Where have you been getting such detailed updates? Your guide?
Mine only ever sends very generic or vague updates.
Mine supposedly left Normal around 3/27.
I've been getting bits and pieces from a mix of my guide and neighbor who works at Rivian. The GPS is active, so they know exactly where it is at all times. Chevy let's you see the GPS data on an ordered vehicle once you are assigned a VIN #, by logging in to theapp. Rivian should do the same.

My guess is that yours is on the same train.

Neighbor friend at Rivian…that makes way more sense than a guide. They seem to know nothing, or don’t want to share what they do know.
Hoping mine was in the same train and that we both hear something this week. Mine is going to SC in El Segundo. Will have my 8 steps finished by today. Will be interested to hear if you get any news or updates this week.

I was assigned a VIN for my R1S on March 27th and was told it was just leaving the factory. Got a notification on April 7th that I could schedule delivery as early as the 13th. They tried to get me to pick it up in Boston but I declined since I am more than 3 hours away up in VT. Delivered yesterday via flatbed truck.

Waited 4 years and one month for my El Cap Granite with OC + Ash interior. It is amazing. In that time totaled my car and had to buy a new one. Convinced myself (and my husband) I would just take delivery and sell it but now that I have it don't think I can let it go. Other SUV is getting sold soon.

I received my VIN on March 29th. I am Taking Factory Delivery in Normal on April 26th. I could have taken delivery a couple of weeks ago, but couldn't make the trip until this week.

I reached out to my Guide this morning to confirm something on my registration. He let me know that my truck did arrive at the SC and is pending final inspection and that they should be reaching out soon to set up delivery.
Who knew one could get so excited for a vehicle!

Great news!!! My neighbor also text this morning to say our R1S is at the Costa Mesa SC. Still shows mine needs the reverse light recall fix.

That's awesome!!!! Looks like ours were on the same train then.
I haven't heard from the service center yet, so we'll see how the final inspection goes. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

I picked my R1S from the shop on 4/3 and was told it was in Normal. By the 7th it had moved to Elgin near the Chicago River. By the 10th, it was already in CA near Yermo. As of this morning, it is Fontana / Jurupa . Should be in at the Costa Mesa SC later this week. Not sure after that. I have everything done with FCU, but they said we will do the last signitures when I have a definite delivery date, so I don't start the interest clock. I also have to sell a car to Carvana, since they offered almost $5k more than Rivian. All the others were about $2k lower.
Picked mine from the shop on 4/3 as well. Hopefully mine is with yours in Southern California!

UPDATE: Just pinged my guide and he says it just arrived at the service center and is in queue to complete the final checks. Hopefully that won't take too long!

Which service center are you going to? My guide told me the same this morning. I'm hoping it doesn't take too long. I finished all my steps this morning so I'm ready to go. Mine is at the El Segundo SC.

I'm not sure. I didn't ask and my guide did not specify. I had my first mile drive a couple of days AFTER selecting the R1S from the shop, and that was in El Segundo. I'm guessing delivery will be at El Segundo too. Please let me know when you do have a delivery date scheduled though!

I'm confused. One of the eight steps was to upload proof insurance. It said something to the effect of insurance needing to be in place to register and title the vehicle. So I called my agent and started insurance to the VIN. Is this actually necessary? I don't want to be paying for 1-2 months of insurance while waiting for delivery.

You don't need insurance and full payment until the day before delivery. I would have it all lined up and ready to go though. For insurance, I got a quote from my company. They now have it on record, so I can just call and activate it when I find out the delivery date.

From my guide:
Congrats on getting a VIN matched. Your R1S is at the plant in Normal, IL and will be shipping out soon. Feel free to begin the purchase process. You can hold off on insurance and payment if you’d like since the vehicle needs some time to ship. We typically estimate about 4-6 weeks for the vehicle to be ready.

The vehicles are currently being shipped by rail to your local service center. When it arrives, my team will complete the final checks and once it’s ready, a specialist will reach out to schedule pickup. All steps will need to be completed the day before pickup. If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to contact me.

I had about 90 seconds between the "Here's your VIN" and the "Come pick it up" emails.

I am insured with Allstate. My agent has told me that they will start my R1T coverage on the day that we take delivery. They already have the VIN and are standing by.

We are taking delivery at the Factory on April 26th. I don't know if I have ever been this excited about something ever.
