Hello,

Lately I have had issues with spotify randomly and frequently pausing for no reason on iPhone, laptop, etc.

I am beginning to wonder if the truck is randomly waking and connecting (have the AT&T wifi active in truck, and use Spotify natively in the Rivian music interface) when parked, causing the mystery pauses.

Has anyone experienced this or have any insight by chance? It is driving me bonkers. I would hate to have to disconnect Spotify from the truck to avoid it, as there is no other decent option for streaming music seamlessly (lack of carplay and all)...

TIA

I have had this issue for months with my iPhone on multiple versions of the Spotify app. I have not been able to figure it out. I was not associating it with the Rivian, but now that you mention it - 🤔

I'll have to pay more attention to exactly when it happens, what connectivity I have and what the Rivian Power State is at the time, which is logged in my Home Assistant.

Thank you for posting this! It's driving me crazy too. I'm convinced the same is happening to me. Wasn't a problem up until recently, but it seems to be happening pretty constantly across multiple devices. It doesn't even seem to coincide with me walking near the truck sometimes too. I'm sitting at my computer pretty far away. And it's still happening.

My really basic evidence is that if I switch it over to Apple Music and the truck and then I start listening to Spotify again, it seems to not happen.

Not sure the best way to report this bug. @Wassym No idea if you monitor this, or if it's already on your radar, but are we crazy or is this possible?

Others have reported this behavior, but not sure if Rivian is aware of it happening. I don't use Spotify outside of the car, so haven't observed the issue.

To follow-up, I was able to confirm that if I do not have Spotify selected as the active service in the Rivian, the issue appears to resolve.

What I can't understand is why the Rivian is randomly playing music when parked and locked...

Has been happening ever since I got my truck. As will happen if I open my truck door. Gets annoying.

And good luck trying to leave your truck playing music while you aren't in it. Unless you leave a door open, it refuses to play on Spotify for more than 1/2 second.

Luckily, I want the exact opposite, to close the doors and not play music. Would be interested to know why it chooses to play itself some tunes while locked and closed, thus draining the battery unecesarily.
