What is really amusing, about 110 years ago, people where saying the ICE automobile was 'soulless' compared to the horse and carriage.:CWL:
Nobody ever said that.

I like the Cybertruck better than this hideous thing from a car company that normally makes beautiful works of art. IMO.

My guy hand written from scratch by me 😂

Just stating when it does launch, this would be great ideas to make not a shitbox like the luce 😂
Trying to pretend that you didn’t use AI to at least aide in drafting is dubious at best. Just count the em dashes, look at the sentence structure and formatting.

I love EV's, as I have 5 for the family but I love all the ICE stuff as well that many EV folks don't. Just like driving with crazy acceleration, amazing tech, free due to solar and the less maintenance. So besides a Bronco and Supercharged SS Ive fully switched.

However, I admit that Im sort of one of a kind. I'm so glad all the influencer hated my Charger, awesome vehicle for a dude that loves the late 60's Charger body style, huge interior, and a little fake noise. Was able to pick it up for low 30's and is a tremendous daily for my needs.

Look forward to R3 as a great weekend / kids are out of house vehicle.

I'm happy there is enthusiasm for the R3X...but it will never sell in meaningful numbers, and it's a modern VW Rabbit. There will be an enthusiast community around it, but I predict it will be small.

Huh?

The R3X will sell like hotcakes, specially if they are able to price it under $60k. Initial reception across the board is that it looks great and has people beyond excited. I don't think we have ever had a trimotor vehicle of this size at the expected price range.

Unless reasonable competition arrives, the R3X will sell well and for a while. I literally do not see a reason why it will not sell. It is a grand slam on paper.

I agree, the excitement is off the charts for the R3X, but there's going to be a premium ($) for all of that Tri-motor fun. We'll see.

Plot twist: they trained the LLM on his Rivian posts.

Alas, 'em dash' = "AI"/LLM-written text isn't always true. For better or worse, I end up using them quite a bit... maybe not for super-short thoughts that these LLMs do, but I tend to separate clauses and what could be two different sentences with them. That being said, it's something that I'm trying to do less, mostly due to the fact that I don't like to have a lot of little sentences, apparently.

I guess it's a compliment if everyone think it's AI, not sure grammar and spelling count as that these days but I also wrote something 2+ years ago where AI wasn't as prevalent.

I'm just a fan who has thoughts and maybe the idea of writing more one day. Post history backs the storyline but go for whatever you wanna believe.

RJ wanted to make a sports car. He's an auto enthusiast for sure. Hopefully he'll continue to want to re-define the car driving and even racing experience as something different than the past.

Too many "enthusiasts" want the exact experience of their ICE performance vehicle but to have all the benefits of electrons.

FFS -Fake noise and shifters! There is a reason Formula E cars have progressed beyond 5-speed transmissions.

I swear, some of these people would have had early ICE vehicles whinnying and crapping in the streets. Perhaps as Rivian develops the R3 series, RJ will resist encouraging people to proactively be a nuisance.

In my youth I raced very loud two-stroke motorcycles and enjoyed the smell of Castrol. Best left in the past.

I think this will be true, it'll be fun but modern and doesn't follow the current formula of fakeness

So....what about making fake noise mandatory?

Isn't R3 very similar to Ionq 5? Having said that similar vehicles can have different sales based on price, marketing, brand etc. Maverick/Ridgeline/Santa Cruz come to mind.

The consensus seems to be great interior, bland exterior. It does look pretty generic to my eye, but the performance is excellent. Put a Hyundai/Tesla/Rivian/etc. badge on it, sell it for $60k!
