Hello all,

I would love to see one of these vehicles in person when you are around the Portland or Beaverton area.

Drop the suspension to its lowest height and bed side reach over isn’t nearly as bad as a conventional 4x4 pickup
There should be a button on the key fob to lower the truck to the lowest height. That seems really useful for getting in, getting out, and loading/unloading. Or even a button on the truck.

It's not possible. As soon as you use an R1T as a "grocery getter" you lose your membership and your adventure vehicle is repossessed.
You have clearly never been to a Costco in Irvine, California. That is a true adventure!

could be done with existing keyfob, just make it a combination of button presses.

However, there was previously a park/kneel mode that lowers the suspension to its lowest possible height automatically when parked. For whatever reason, trucks delivered don’t have it. Probably OTA Update later.

For us to use our R1T for a Costco run would most likely require a recharge to complete the run. Our two closest Costcos are in Mobile and Tallahassee. Each one is 125 miles from here. A 250-mile round trip would push the Rivian to its range limit. I guess that this would qualify as an adventure.

I wondered when Rivian would start GPS restricting areas that aren’t adventurous enough. ?
Costco not adventurous enough? Cars pulling out without looking, dinosaur sized shopping carts flitting around unattended, kids crossing the parking lot without looking with half a churro shoved in their mouth, chicken with other cars at the gas pumps? I actually heard a rumor that Rivian is installing RAN chargers at all costcos due to the high adventure score they receive.

If you do Costco and trader joe’s on the same day, it’s equivalent to the rubicon trail

I'm confused. Isn't this a "thing" for any pickup truck?

Whether long/extended bed or not, nobody is reaching into the entirety of any pickup bed without climbing up there.

Hell, even larger SUVs you can't even reach into the forward part of the trunk sometimes.

Once Tank Turn comes out they will disable all other drive modes in software.

Off to twirl my way to work! ?

Everything
done a few costco runs in the r1t. my suggestion is to buy a few trunk organizer baskets. I have two in the frunk. Keeps the loose items from rolling around. Anything in a large box goes in the bed. Between the frunk and bed I haven't had to use the cabin or gear tunnel.

At least you'll be staying away from those long gas lines at Costco!

When IS tank mode coming out? It helped sell me on the truck Because I have an actual use case for it in my driveway. Do we know?

Is your driveway dirt/gravel?

I'm not sure we'll see tank turn anytime soon. It is a huge safety issue.

It is both dirt and gravel. It would be cool to head into a spot, spin the truck around and then head out of the same spot.
I saw the video of the truck doing the tank turns and it was really kicking up the mud. I can imagine all kinds of scenarios that could be bad. I also have one that could be useful. I would use it more than I would lame assist.
