Timing from R1 Shop -> Delivery?

Curious about those folks who've decided to purchase from the R1 shop rather than wait for their build - what's the typical timeline? I know the website says 6-8 weeks, is that about right?

Depends on the build you select from the R1 shop. If it is already located at the SC then it would be a week like in my instance. Otherwise from the factory, expect the time frame given by Rivian.

Took delivery a couple weeks ago - it took less than a week from being told "it's leaving Normal now headed to Brooklyn" to "It's ready, schedule a delivery."

Hi! It was very fast. I was a max pack holdout and switched to a truck from the store on 3/20. Within hours I got an email that my truck was available for pickup. Then I got an email from my guide that the Richmond team said it wasn't quite there yet on 3/23. Then on 3/24 I got another email saying it was in Richmond and going through final quality checks. Lastly, I received a text from Richmond SC that it was available for pickup as early as Monday, 3/27, and that I had to get it within 7 days. So a bit of conflicting information there, but overall it was fast. Much faster than I expected.

They even told me that I couldn't get it on 4/1 (Saturday, said they were fully booked) and that I had to get it on Friday (3/31). But when I talked to someone in Richmond after I got down there they said Saturday was wide open. Think they were making that Q1 push. ?

I'm sure there was extra effort to make Q1 look as good as possible, but with some recent news (max pack EPA estimates, RJ going on a podcast, etc.), I wouldn't be surprised to see wait times start to come down to pretty quick if you meet the following criteria:

• R1T, large pack, quad motor
• Live near a current SC
• post-3/1/22 reservation (although I'd also be surprised to hear if anyone pre 3/1/22 who's within deliver radius of an SC hasn't received a vehicle yet)

What model did you reserve? Anything "special" like Max Pack or dual motors? As someone else said, large pack + quad + live near a SC seems to be key. Welcome, and good luck!

Well.... I was thinking dual motor, large pack and I'm about 70 miles from Orlando...

I don't think dual motor is expected to ship before the fall. Things being as they are, that'll probably get delayed. If you want something sooner, might have better luck with the quad.

Portland is also my service center. I ordered an R1T from the shop on 3/29/23, found out a few days later that it was still in Normal. Awesome, what config R1T? Yes, please keep me updated, I assume I would be about 1 week behind you.

My Ford Lightning took about 14 days to go from Michigan to Portland. I assume it would be about the same for Rivian.
