Need to let your guide know BEFORE you complete the order. I've read mixed feedback with some saying you have to be FROM Illinois to do local pickup, but I think that is false.

You are looking at the wrong problem. The camera is getting power from the 12V supplied to the camper via the 7 pin trailer cable. The 12V needed in the cabin is for the monitor using the camera on the back of the camper as a rear view mirror.
Gotcha. So how do we hook that up if they got rid of the 12v? Why would they discontinue such an important feature? That could become a real problem for this of us that tow. I personally rely on that camera.
Congratulations! Did they give you a tour? Did it come with the floor mats or the 12v under the dash or had they removed that already?
My understanding is that there was a problem with the supplier and they have no parts for the one in the cabin. They should have still cut the hole and allowed it to be added back in later. As for how do we hook that up, that is the purpose of the 12V extension cable I mentioned.

I am from Illinois and since I put down my reservation in April '22 I had set my delivery address as the factory address. I also told my guide I wanted to pickup at factory. My main reasons for doing the factory pickup (1) faster pickup not having to wait for transport to Chicago and then re-checkout there, (2) not having to have it transported, (3) doing a 180 mile drive to shake things out and really experience the truck right off the bat, and (4) factory tour. I picked up on March 25th and there were a lot of vehicles staged for transport. Due to various dealer laws around the country the delivery charge is still applied if you pick up at the factory so that's a lot of money Rivian saves by doing factory pickups. They would add some tourism to the local area by having people fly in and pickup if out of state. They would free up a lot of transportation bottlenecks too. I really don't understand why they don't push for an increase in factory tours; even promote and encourage them. I mentioned this to the guy who did my delivery and he didn't understand either. He said they could process a lot more of them through the factory location.
