Rivian wouldn't charge at DCFC

Nearly every 150 - 350kwh charger I've used, assuming you've set location and your battery is prepped for rapid charge, starts out very fast then settles to around 130mph as per the screen estimates (and usually seems to stay at around 1 hr to charge. I don't even pay attention to these estimates as the charge time is always faster than that. My record best was from about 15% - 95% in 18 mins at the EA in Evanston, WY. I went into the grocery store there to kill some time and was quite stunned to see it was already slowing down as it approached full.charge. Bonus is that in WY and UT power is cheap, especially WY. It usually in the $13 - $15 range there for a teens % - 85%ish charge. While in California, this type of charge ranged from $35 - $45 at EA stations - quite pathetic. I don't intend on taking my Riv back to Cali, ever.

I don't care if you believe me or not. It happened. It's usually 30 - 35 mins.

And, I guess, avoid all states that EA doesn’t charge by the minute? Maybe he doesn’t know EA charges the same except for the few states that are by minute. Still much less $$ than gas

If I stop by Evanston WY when I'm down that way next month I will be sure to take advantage of the abnormally cheap pricing. But if the DCFC in Rawlins isn't fixed by then I will have to avoid the whole state because those are the only two places to charge along I-80. Maybe Tesla could open up their supercharger with a Magic Dock. I would rather have an "expensive" charger than no charger at all ...

If WY wants to attract visitors it should stop sending me all those glossy brochures in the mail and invest in a charger or two instead.

No, but I have a condo and Explorer in Coronado, so I normally just fly back and forth. Don't drive much while I'm there.

But when I switched to the charger after they had left, I was still unable to connect.

I originally chalked it up to the EA chargers being lame, but ultimately it got worse and I found my truck wouldn't connect with ANY chargers. Submit a service ticket because when I took mine in for service they found a faulty "central gateway module" which is the thing that the vehicle uses to communicate with the charging networks.

Had mine replaced, and it connects now to pretty much any charger you throw at it. I went from like a 25% charge success rate to now only 1 station that I know of which it doesn't like.

I had an issue at EA 2 days ago (April 20). Did a road trip from Minneapolis to Arkansas. Used EA 3 times with no issue. While in Bentonville the next day, stopped to top off for around town driv . Multiple attempts to initiate with the app or the digital wallet did not work. Then tried manually inserting my credit card into the reader and it worked right away. After getting enough charge disconnected and tried app/digital payment again with no luck. Manual CC insertion worked again. Another lesson to remember and pass along

Does that matter? A Rivian can't use more than ~200kW ...

After I finally got a good charge going, yesterday (at EA on a 350 kW charger), it hit 217 kW. It started to drop off a bit as I approached 50% charge, and dropped off a lot more as I got into the 60% range.

I saw the same on EA 350kw charger, it hit around 215 or 220 kwh for a minute or so, then taper off. If rivian's max is at 200kwh, is that means the number on EA station is inflated?
