El Cap... Our first choice was Limestone, but faced with both Limestone and El Cap in the R1S Shop at the same time with the same configuration, we chickened out and got El Cap. Also, 2-3 months ago, my neighbor took delivery of an R1T in Limestone and we didn't want to copy them. We were worried that Limestone is a fad type color and we might get tired of it in 5 years or so. We have to keep this one for a while, so we couldn't go wrong with grey metallic of El Cap.

Honestly, El Cap really pops in person!! I'm glad we chose it.

Manufactured in Normal but I don 't know its travel history. If I find out Saturday, I'll post.

Don't worry, it is worth the wait at this point!

It took 8 days for my R1S from the time I selected / confirmed it in shop (4/12) until the first available delivery date (4/20) and I ended up pushing delivery out a few days due to scheduling conflicts (picked it up this Monday, 4/24).

Per my guide, vehicles that are shipped to the SC by truck like mine was are arriving much more quickly and have far fewer issues that have to be corrected during PDI than those arriving by rail, so location (both where the truck starts and where it is being delivered to) will probably play a big part in timing.

Mine arrived in Houston by at least 4/24, but as of 4/26 was still at the rail yard. They told me it can take a week to get from railyard to SC. (isn’t it across the street?)

I think I have the same tastes as you. Rivian blue pops in person, but it also is a "look at me" color, because you get a lot of attention with it. I liked it in both both the SUV and Truck, but this is my wife's car mainly, so she gets a little say. Limestone is a deceiving color. It goes from an awesome gray, to powder blue. Definitely I like it in gray, but sometimes I feel it is a little too powdery blue. I'm biased on the El Cap, since we have two Ford cars in Magnetic Metallic, one of which being replaced by the Rivian. I think the El Cap, Black, Forest green look classy.

My original configuration was ElCap with 22 brights but when I saw the LG with 22 darks I could not resist. ElCap with the 22 dark looks really good. Congrats!

ElCap on the R1S is really nice and timeless. That color really dances in the sun and can look different at night or on a cloudy day.

Between those 3 my vote would be ElCap.

After waiting nearly 3 years for my R1S I was granted access to the store. Within a few days the perfect configuration came through. I quickly pulled the trigger, completed the financing, insurance, and so on.

I received the VIN (7PDSGABL1NN001226) and everything moved very fast.

One week later I was told my R1S was in internal inspection and that could take 2 weeks.

Two weeks later, with no updates, I check in and was told that the vehicle had failed inspection and that a new R1S was being built and I would have a new delivery in 1-4 months.

This was the final straw. After too many misleading statements, missed deadlines, and little to no communication I have canceled my order. 2 years and 10 months for nothing. I really wanted this car and I really want Rivian to succeed. If my experience is the norm then I fear it will not end well. Trust is a fragile thing. Rivian has lost mine for good.

If anyone has a way of tracking what happened to that vehicle I would love to know.
