I like the HVAC changes. Having to constantly fiddle with the HVAC to get the temp right is one of those minor things that’s been growing in annoyance over time.

Hopefully it can be kept in auto mode a lot more often.
I agree on this. All my other vehicles with climate control have been far more consistent and accurate at holding a set temp. Hopefully this update does the trick!

I’d be happy if highway assist doesn’t turn off every time a car passes to the right of n the freeway. For example if in lane 2, and a car passes in lane 1…always makes it drop
If you're getting passed on the right, perhaps you should move to the right lane.

I’ve been very happy with auto the last few months.

I’ll have to try it again. I stopped using auto in the winter as it didn’t work very well, but it was the only thing I used to use in the Tesla.

I agree. Comparing to our ‘22 Kia Niro EV, the last few months of HVAC changes make it more consistent than that vehicle. However, the lane keeping assist (not driver+) on the Kia vastly dominates my R1T, so far

the cabin can be very warm in the winter is the biggest issue i've experienced, resulting in cooling the cabin because it sat in the sun all day even if it's 50 degrees outside it's 75 inside, and my set temp of 72 means it will try to cool it. at that point i just turn it off. summer has been awesome, on the other hand.

"Improved Highway Assist (HWA) availability by no longer shutting it off during travel through overhead gantry electronic toll collection stations."

I think everyone in my area will be excited for this.
yeah with the express lane on I-405, Driver+ is almost unusable.

I used Driver + for the first time since the previous update and was very pleased. I’d usually have to yank the steering wheel out of fear of veering into the next lane but on this drive it was very smooth.

Kinda hope that we get lane nudging at some point with HWA. The truck is so dead-set on staying in the middle of the lane that when passing a vehicle that is close to the lane line it seems uncomfortably close to them. It's bad enough that I've only been using HWA when there aren't other cars around, which kinda defeats part of its purpose. As another said, why we don't have a resume feature yet is ridiculous. While there isn't a button for it, you'd think they could easily use the cancel gesture (lift up on the stalk) when over 20 mph as a resume. I'd use that a lot since I'm always manually cancelling ACC when coming up to stop lights or cars stopped at lights since the truck insists on flying up on stopped cars then slamming on the brakes instead of slowing down gently as a human driver would.

I liked the fact that the cabin had some heat protection and would auto cool at higher temperatures. This is a useful feature in our Tesla as it just never gets too hot. I imagine it’s better for all the internal gear long term. Instead of outright removing it I wish they had given the option to turn it on or off.

Hopefully a bug fix is that the scheduled charging doesn't still think Fridays are weekends.
And I was going nuts this past week as to why my Friday was declared a weekend by the Rivian app...thanks for confirming!! I had to change my charging routine to bypass this issue

That is odd, my driver plus works as good as the autopilot on my 2016 Model S where it is mapped. I wonder what is different on my R1S?

Come and take a drive here in Washington state. You’ll be surprised. You flash the lights behind them to kindly ask to move to the right and allow you to pass and does nothing. Then you pass them on the right and they look at you like you are a jerk for flashing the lights.
