Rivian executive acknowledges R1S AC noise problem

Am I mistaken or the weed eater noise went away after 15 seconds? I just heard full wind blow in 2nd half.

Oh yes It goes away a couple seconds after turning off the AC button. That was just to show service the noise differences.

Mine is now doing the same thing. Here in AZ. goes away if I turn off AC and then turn back on

Mine turns off when the AC is off, but back within 5 min of turning back on and progressively gets louder the longer it goes. THis morning it was finally around 80 outside and didn't have any issues. Back to 105 this afternoon and it was back. The noise is not too bad with radio on but the foot vibrations are annoying.

Believe the answer in "Not." Rivian can't develop a potential fix until they know what it is they are fixing and cause is apparently still being looked into.

Dalton, helped me with inspection and he was sort of trying to convince me that compressor noise is not widespread and it quickly goes away in a minute or two after car is cooler.

This is not what I have experienced. The noise does not stop once my cabin cools down after 10 minutes. I've reported this to Rivian several times...interesting they are telling customers the opposite.

Mine goes away within a few minutes or sometimes just turning AC off and on again, but I can see those in hotter climates having the issue longer or indefinitely.

Executive vs manager is a big stretch with different connotations.

Not to trivialize the main concern, issue. I hope the issue is fixed for all. Carry on..

In my quick inspection, I found fit and finish pretty good. I am attaching some photos for everyone to review.

If you do bring it it to the SC after the Q2 rush.. ask them to lower the door a few MM as it's clearly mounted too high compared to the front fender trailing edge and the rear door leading edge.

Ohh great thanks, I looked at the photos multiple times and didn't notice once. Surprisingly it aligns perfectly with rear door in the bottom atleast and top seems confusing in photo. Instead, do you think fender can be upped a little bit to match to the door?

That's one of those things they will have to determine at the SC because if you move the fender down.. then the hood won't line up, etc... it becomes a big can of worms. They have plenty of experience aligning doors, etc.. at this point in time. I'm confident that once they are made aware of the issue they will 100% resolve it to your satisfaction.

Sure, makes sense. I am a novice on this topic so definitely leave it upto SC to fix it the right way they think.

I just took my R1S out after the update. During that 15 drive the sound seemed significantly improved. Not sure if was a fluke or not. Has anyone else experienced this? It still had a low hum that stated about 5 minutes into the drive, but I made a five minute stop to pick something up and then got back in and drove another 10 minutes with a/c full blast and though it wasn't completely quiet it seemed to be a big difference. I will have to take the car out several more times before I am convinced, perhaps it was a fluke.
