I have used this drive through car wash and with good results until a brush wrapped around drivers side mirror pulling forward and leaving a blemish on the black mount portion.

The manager took pics and claim filed , I now retract the mirrors during wash mode.

new mirror on order and I Will design a gasket/seal to go between the mount and body as the water is always trapped between the two .

Poor design , I will die cut a black silicone gasket from the old mirror mount shape .

Here is the cost of new assy

Good to know. I go to quick quack and I occasionally fold the mirrors. I will do that from now on

I take mine regularly thru many a Luv car wash. Track and spinning brushes. It's a truck. And I use it accordingly. Fold the mirrors always, and car wash mode. Never get out of the car, in and out in 5 minutes.
As of yet, never a problem. When I get home I wipe down the leftover water spots and runs. Around the mirrors and door handles usually.
Sorry about your damage. Hoping I'm luckier.

Full hand job, all the way :CWL: ....you also never know what's hiding in those bristles at those types of car washes.

I'm in the camp of self-serve hand wand car washes only... just seen too much collateral damage in the automatic washes over the years - especially in trucks and SUVs.

Benefits of rarely washing my truck! And when I do, it's just at the house and I have to keep the kids from scraping the truck with the hose/sprayer

Only hand wash our R1S.... but I'll admit, I let the Costa Mesa R1T loaner rip through the Rebel gas station car wash at least once a week? I do close the mirror and use carwash mode.

It's truck for god sake. It should be able to withstand any kind of wash. People got to stop pampering Rivian like a Barbie doll.
I don't take my roof/bed racks off the truck for a wash, therefore I stay the hell away from touch washes. It's a truck for god's sake and I use it like one.

Automatic car washes with brushes are basically wallpapered with disclaimers about how they’re not responsible for any bits of your vehicle their equipment removes or damages.

No vehicle should be subjected to one. Unless you like scratched paint and broken things.

Some municipalities prohibit home car washing for various reasons and seasons. The self-wash bays are a good alternative. Bring your own wash gear.
