Do you always carry keyfob or just keycard?

I use fob as it is more reliable than my phone. Atleast, it was several months back. Have card and PAAK as backups.

Question comes up all the time. Some people on the Facebook forums really get worked up over it. My favorite was the clown who got himself locked out after bragging about his six other EV's... LOL. So, not a "noob mistake". ?

Anyhow, PaaK as primary, fob in my pocket as backup, keycard in wallet as secondary backup. No issues, never been locked out. Like anything in life, something this valuable you should always plan for and be prepared for backup situations / contingencies. ??

PaaK is all I use. I also keep a keycard hidden in a secured place within the truck I highly, highly doubt anyone would look. PaaK has failed me on a few times as far as being able to drive the vehicle even though it unlocks the doors, gear tunnel, etc. I don’t carry a wallet, keys, or anything else. Literally just my phone.

I use my fob mostly with the proximity locking as default and my wristband maybe 2% of the time for certain activities. I also carry the keycard and have PAAK as a backup.

I’ve never used keyfob more than one year Ang going. Since day 1, only my phone and I have a card in my wallet.

I use the PAAK and have a card in my wallet. I may throw the fob in my lunch cooler so I will have it while I am at work.

There was one time (May-June maybe) where I unlocked my truck with my phone app, got in the truck, but it didn’t recognize my phone to start the truck. I grabbed the fob that day. Every once in a while now (in the last couple weeks) it won’t recognize the phone immediately for starting the truck, but recognizes it after a couple seconds. This is despite using the app to unlock the truck in my driveway. Not sure if it’s a sleep cycle thing.

My card is useless ... it lets me in then won't let me shift into D! I'm holding this thing on/around every part of the drivers door as it instructs, but nothing. Why open the car in the first place??

I tried phone as a key with key card in wallet as back up and no fob, but paak still sucks ... at least when it's in a pocket. If I walk up to my vehicle with the phone out, it's fairly response (little to no delay in unlocking). If I walk up to it with the phone in my back pocket, as I usually carry it, paak is pretty much worthless ... and requires taking the phone out of my pocket to get the truck to recognize its presence (i.e., unlock). And it's been even worse with the iPhone 15 Pro (compared with my 14 Pro). So I had to go back to carrying the fob, which is super responsive in almost all situations. The paak thing is frustrating. If I'm walking up two the truck with my hands full or pushing a shopping cart or something, and get no response requiring I fumble around to get my phone out to make it work, then the "feature" is worthless. I rarely have my phone in my hand as I approach the vehicle.

So, as of a few days ago (because of noted iPhone 15 Pro degradation in paak functionality), I'm key fob on belt loop + key card in wallet as failsafe.

I loved my keyfob when they presented it to me on the day I picked up my R1T. It was unique and loved the yellow color. However I am starting to notice it's too bulky in my jean pocket and it sometimes presses into my thigh when I walk. I also carry keycard in my wallet. Is it totally safe just carrying the keycard without the keyfob? I am nervous that I am in middle of nowhere with my R1T and I can't get the car started because I only have keycard. Do you guys just carry keycard alone? Any bad experience with that approach?

I use my phone and have key card in my wallet. My wife usually only takes the key card.

PAAK Primary (has been working well) with key card in wallet as backup (same for my wife). Fob in kitchen drawer... just another thing to carry around.

PaaK and key card in wallet for back-up. The few times I have had issues with PaaK and have been asked to "present a key", I've found that turning off bluetooth on my phone and then back on has worked, but still carry the key card just in case.

What do you do in case when you have to valet parking or you are at the car wash. I doubt they know how to use the keycard and it would also be awkard to use your phone for them.

I don't do valet in this truck (I recognize this is not an option for everyone)
