They have dual motor performance for people who are more price conscious but still want a fast vehicle. There's definitely some room for them to move up-market with a higher end trim but it absolutely won't be their top seller, and they won't intend it to be. Plenty of people keep saying "It's already fast enough for me" and those people aren't the market they are after here.
IDK if that's true Munroe said that the R1 is very overbuilt now. Perhaps their initial design had this kind of force built in already. Torsional rigidity is pretty good on the R1s for off-roading and whatnot, so I don't think they are too far off structurally for 1200hp
Yup. They are after people like me who don't want a Cybertruck out there that's faster than I am. I probably wouldn't want delivery until 2025, but that's most likely when I'd get it anyways. I am going to be trading mine in by then anyways for something yet decided by then as I don't keep vehicles like this out of warranty and trading in when you still have a year or two left on the warranty always gives better trade value.

I would imagine the frame would be fine...it's all the other little bits taking the brundt of that torque which need to be revisited, both internal and external to the motors and drive units. Don't get me wrong, I would be more than happy to receive a 400hp OTA.
GM is doing it on the Hummer EV / Ultium platform. They run everything at 400V, but charge at 800V.Is there any other manufacturer doing anything like that at this point? I’m not educated on battery technology as many of you are, but that seems like something new.

Yeah, by "magic" I meant "magically not as bad in cold weather" which I believe is a flaw in current generation LFP. I really need decent cold weather range for winter adventures, so the current gen is a non-starter for me, personally.
Maybe. Lots of people don't need or use the current gen's horsepower. I think some of it depends on where you live. Round these parts there are plenty of places to open my truck up. I literally have almost zero vampire drain on my 2023 with ~23000 vin. Left outside in 40 degree weather over night and didnt lose 1 mile. I think there are other issues going on with some people and the drain.
I'm just giving you crap but agree, really depends on where you live. There's a dude that shipped his R1T to Germany and has apparently been hauling it out on the autobahn.
