Yep the i3 uses a eucalyptus wood I think on both the terra and giga trims. I used to have an i3, I really miss that car, everything about it was ahead of its time.Looks great! They use a similar material in the door card that we have in the i3 interior.
Interesting, because the i3 also uses a near-finished wood veneer for the dash. I believe it’s eucalyptus?
It’s a great car. My wife refuses to get rid of it despite the tiny battery - thankfully she’s holding out for an R2.Yep the i3 uses a eucalyptus wood I think on both the terra and giga trims. I used to have an i3, I really miss that car, everything about it was ahead of its time.
I'm trying to convince my wife to get another i3, it just doesn't make a ton of sense since they discontinued them. But I'd love a 2022 i3s mega interior but with the 428 wheels. Yea those whitewashed stock mats look ugly IMO. I got the all weather mats on delivery and love them. This is my favorite interior especially with the all weather floor mats in place of the whitewashed carpet which I do not like at all. Very nice!
Very very nice. It would never work for us......it would drive my wife nuts getting dirty. Before we picked up our R1S I was looking for photos of a full Ocean Coast interior without the wood trim and nobody had any. There were photos from the Rivian site but I wanted some real pictures. We finally got our R1S a few weeks ago so I wanted to post these in case it helps anybody else. I was originally on the fence and a lot of people were saying to swap but after having seen both now in person I'm really glad we waited.
For us it shouldn't be any different than a dark interior. We've always tried to take good care of our cars. If I know I'm going to be all dirty from anything I bring a seat cover regardless. That wouldn't change if I had a dark interior either. It does look great although not for me. All the white for an adventure vehicle just seems wrong, how do the white interiors hold up under adventure type use?
