With so many issues I hear about Rivian compressors and thinking about MTBF, and longevity, I never mess with the height settings even though it is perfectly fine to do. My R1S is forever set to and fixed on standard height. I have not even used kneel mode once and could use it.
Nothing wrong at all with my R1S yet...knock on my head.
This is paranoia my man. Brought on by weighted failure reports on-line. If it makes you feel better though; rock on.

Failures this early have nothing to do with MTBF and everything to do with the bathtub curve. I would have had issues ten times over in nine months if this was a MTBF issue.

I know, I know :(. THank you.
At the end of the day, I like keeping it on that setting, all purpose, etc.

Ahhhh - got it. Great additional use case for running boards.

if I find the thread on kneel height and issues with sharp turns, I’ll post it. I think it was back in Feb or something.
I don’t think it stresses the suspension as much as it causes rubbing with the stock 20” AT tires. Nothing catastrophic, but if you did it often enough it could be the wheel well liners would develop holes.

You don't want to be camp level at every traffic light?!
No, but camp level sure comes in handy when loading stuff in our sloped driveway!

I wish Rivian gave us a load cargo setting where the rear suspension could be lowered as far as the bump stops while in Park. I seem to recall Volvo has buttons for this in the cargo area on vehicles equipped with air suspension and our Land Rover let you use a button on the fob to lower, provided you were in Park and with hazard lights flashing.

When I had a suspension issue where it was taking a long to time to build pressure back into the system (about 4 minutes), they found the problem to be a valve in the solenoid valve manifold getting stuck. They replaced the manifold and everything was great after that. Although, using the suspension multiple times when showing off to friends, did overheat the pump a few times when we first got the R1S.

When friends ask for a demo I go to Highest first, then show the rapid drop to Lowest, and finally return to Standard. Trying to go from Lowest to Highest seems painfully slow to me.

I am still mentally recovering from a LR I owned years ago. I have had my R1 on auto for about 10 months so far. I want to see if anything goes wrong in the first year. I would have been happy to have a coil suspension set to std height.

Coming from someone whose suspension on his R1S completely failed two weeks into ownership and had to be replaced and who doesn't like the clicking and hissing that I hear more often if I've been adjusting the height, I'm with you: the vast majority of the time, we're just at standard height.

Understand that you would feel that way but how I think about it is: you either got a lemon or you don't. If it's a lemon, you might as well find out ASAP and then get it fixed. If not, you might as well use it.

I went off-roading last week and noticed it was having a lot of trouble getting into the Highest setting. It kept blinking for ages.

I did a little digging around in the Service Menu and found Air Suspension Reservoir Pressure. After being at rest in my garage for hours, it read 16.6 Bar (roughly 240 psi). I set the suspension to Highest, which left me with 12.1 bar. I dropped it down to Lowest and I was down to 6.9 bar of reservoir pressure. When I tried to raise it again...nothing. It didn't move for 2 minutes while the pump ran, refilling the reservoir to 8.0 before it would budge. It took a full 5 minutes for the pumps o turn off after reaching 10.3 bar.

So my question is, is this common? Do you all have enough pressure to raise/lower it more than once? I know lifting 7,500 pounds is no small task, so maybe that's just to be expected. I hadn't noticed it until I went off-roading and wanted to frequently tweak the ride height while I learned the R1S's limitations.
I’m noticing my front end dropping after awhile parked so I went into the ride menu and noticed my air suspension reservoir pressure would build up to 17bar then slowly lose pressure to about 6 bar after 30 mins. Does yours hold pressure at 16 bar until you change the height?

Just checked, and mine stays at 16 bar.
