Did you all try connecting your car to Wifi? Was also waiting but I received it about 30 mins after I connected to my home Wifi.

Neithet have I. In the past I was usually one of the earlier ones to receive the updates. I have never connect to Wifi since day1. Is that required now for this update?

I leased a 2024 r1s two months ago and have not received the update. Yesterday I chatted with customer service and I found out I never had my R1S connected to my WiFi. Within an hour of the chat it was sent to me and I signed up for automatic updates as the new download suggested. I owned a 2023 R1S but sold it after 6 months of owning it outright because of the fear of losing a ton of depreciation. With a lease it’s not a worry.

I have never connected mine to WiFi as I usually don't park in my garage and I keep the broadcast power of my WAPs very low such that they won't connect outside of the garage. If this is true then Rivian needs to announce an official change because it has never been this way before, and really the app should be telling me it's ready and I need to connect to WiFi.

Likewise - didn’t have to do this before but after reading this just went to garage , connected Riv to WiFi - and voila - 10 minutes later, Update pops in .

Ok, makes sense now., I guess this update is gigantic and best if 4G could be avoided. Thanks for starting this thread!, or I would be wondering why I'm still on 11.02 in 2026.

Wifi = Update

I'll add myself to the list. I hadn't received the recent update, connected to wifi after reading this thread, and the update is now installing an hour later.

I suspect being connected to wifi might adversely affect vampire drain but I suppose it can be turned back off until the next update.

Construction around our house knocked out the internet cable three times. One lasted a couple of days. I didn't check the R1 until I read this. Fixed the wifi connection and an hour later-Bob's your uncle!
