Best backseat protector for the R1T? is there one folks prefer that doesn't fully block the air vents to the back seat while still shielding the dogs from going to the front seats? I've got 2 60# pittie/rescues plus a 5 month human baby.
We got one from Orvis - no window, just open to the front. It looks like they don't have the exact same one but it's similar to this one. It's held up great in ~10 months. Easy to remove for washing.
We also got the foam extenders to give them a bigger flat space.

Is that a Pyrenees (mix)? One of the R1S owners in our household is a Pyrenees mix and she leaves a fur trail like yours has. She also has same reaction to yours when she jumps in for trips in the back.

I don't recall if I posted this one before. 4 year old Bernedoodle (female, standard). About 70lbs. She loves coming out with us, in any vehicle really, since she knows she's going somewhere new.

We just finished our 1800mi west coast road trip for our protection sports training. We fit three dogs in intermediate and large Rufflands, a spare tired, an iceco fridge for their raw food (they're spoiled af), and all the gear. This is exactly why we needed a bigger vehicle so I'm happy it worked out. We even made it home before our friends driving ICE vehicles!

Hi Sandra. This is the TransK9 B12 from https://www.transk9usa.com/b12

I worked with them to find the largest crate that would fit the back of the R1S with the third row seat folded flat.

I also installed a https://twistep.com/products/twistep-pet-step-for-pickup-trucks so my dogs don't put too much force through their joints when jumping in/out of the car. I installed a 2" drop receiver adapter and the step rotates underneath the car when not in use.

PLEASE help!! I bought this step, and the 2" drop hitch for the R1S, but ... my sensors freak out when it's used or closed up for travel. The people at Twistep said to disable the sensors?? WAHH? Did you do that? if not, how did you make it work? Sending this bugger back will cost a fortune if I can't get it to work.

You should be able to disable the rear sensor by going into settings > Driver+ and toggling the 'rear accessory mode' setting.

I figured I would start a new thread about how dogs and Rivians work together. I would guess that at least 75% Rivian owners have at least one dog they take with them on trips. Many have 2 or more and that means on average there is at least one dog per Rivian family on a per capita basis. Here is my 90 lb. Catahoula Leopard dog "SOOKIE" and her cage in a R1T back seat. This is a set up to allow her easy access to the top of the seat and not crowd her in with the seat folded. I though of removing the seat bottom but that is still a big jump up and you loose 2 seating positions when the dog is not tripping with you.

Update: Got my R1S back from the SC finally and they did a great job replacing the HV battery. I returned the rental R1T, so we are back to R1S-ing, headed to the unknown. She does a run around of the whole rear compartment when she decides to open her cage. Soookie has been diagnosed with cancer and has had 4 operations, the Canine cancer vaccine and 4 radiation treatments in the past 6 months. She is just as crazy as ever and hopes to be around to hitch a ride in the R2S.....and watch the Dodger in the World Series this October.
