Never really thought of getting screen protectors for a car. What are everyone’s opinions?

Also, if leasing, can apply them? Or is that considered a “ cosmetic change”?

I have the matte protector for the center screen to control the glare and fingerprints. As long as it is removeable (aren't they all?) it would be fine to install on a lease.

Screen protectors to protect from scratches, not needed. But they do really help with reducing fingerprints.

One other data point - I originally installed a matte screen protector. After a few months I ended up replacing it with a gloss screen protector as under bright sun the matte protector makes it hard to see the screen.

if you dont like fingerprints get the matte. if you want to keep the clarity get the clear. if you wanna protect it from scratches get either one.

I have kids, so I use screen protectors. I just went with stealth PPF on the screens. It should be fine on a leased car, since I’ve had tint installed on one a while back.

I use screen protectors, no regrets. Beats accidentally scratching the display. Only downside is having to purchase it.

I don't use screen protectors as scratches aren't really an issue -- unless you use a diamond ring to make your selections. Finger prints and dust/doggo hair are an issue, but I keep a microfiber rag under the front of the driver seat and can easily wipe them off at any red light.

I've never considered using one because I don't anticipate any scratching to occur.

As for fingerprints, I'm surprised how much they show on a Rivian (also on the front screen). I've had Teslas before (without a protector) and fingerprints definitely don't show as much.

I may try a matte one on the center screen to see if it helps.

Screen protectors give less glare and help with fingerprints. Should not be an issue for your lease. If you plan to turn the vehicle in at the end you can simply remove them.

@twraps is a vendor here and I highly recommend their screen protectors for this purpose.

Use code EO10 and you will get 10% off your order. I have the matte screen protectors and they do a really good job with glare and fingerprints.

I've had no screen protection for the 2 plus years i've had the truck and no issues no scratches. My 2 year old is now facing forward center in the back and threw his Rivian matchbox and it hit the screen in the back. Yep just ordered some screen protection.

LOL - I have twins who used to chuck their empty sippy cups at the front windshield when they were finished with them!

When installing my screen protectors, I did them in this order: Driver (not a touch screen), back (for additional practice, and then the main screen.

I like the Matt screen protectors to reduce the reflective glare. I've been using them on all the screens for a year and a half now.

I installed matte protectors and took it off the next day. I didn’t like the blurry look of the screen, almost like out of focus with it…

IDK, I'm not sure it makes any sense to cover my glass screen with a sticker that still still picks up fingerprints and scratches. Then I'm just stuck wiping down a sticker. I haven't personally encountered any glare issues. I keep a microfiber cloth in the console and quickly wipe down the screens once or twice a week.
The whole "protect it with a sticker" concept seems like a money-making construct to me. Paint should be durable. Glass should be durable. Covering things with stickers does not eliminate the need to clean. Who's rockin' plate protection film instead of doing dishes? How about using a daily "skid mark protector" film in your underwear instead of changing it and doing laundry? Where does it end?
