That’s a NEW video? The guy is just covering the basic of old news. He’s trying to make it sound dire but it’s the same set of facts that have me pretty bullish on Rivian long-term. No way that yawner moves anything.

It is a good move because you take the existing platform, add a few interior updates and replace expensive Bosch motors with your cheaper enduro motors and then charge a premium. Some will buy and you make good profit on that while helping get to 2026 and the R2 volume.

Until the R2 comes out & (assuming) it starts selling very well there’s really no reason for the stock to do much of anything

This will be the story of RIVN stock until if/when the R2 successfully ramps up and becomes profitable. Any good news for RIVN that bumps the stock up won't stick because all the resource burn going into the R2 will have such and oversized impact on future share prices that there is nowhere for RIVN to go except sideways until then.

So it is trapped in the same sideways cycle since it was right around this same price in Spring 2023.

If this sinks Rivian, than the entire automotive industry is done. We might as well be a service industry.

The F150, Ram 1500 & Silverado are basically well marketed purchases protected by the chicken tax.

People seem to have a hard time understanding the R1 will never be a high volume product line. Like the much lower volume Tesla Model S/X (compared to 3/Y) the R1 is the introduction of Rivian brand. The future R2/3 vehicles are going to be the introduction into the mainstream buyers for higher volume.

There are people out there that want high performance vehicles. To me it would be stupid not to put 5-7k more cost in a vehicle and sell it for 35k+ over baseline model. .

Very possible, volume was nearly double average.

I do not know when their stock options hit, the last time they had a transaction spike this high was 8/10/2023.

I know the company I used to work for stock options hit in May every year, the day they hit volume was always high as people were selling portions of the options to cover taxes.

Today is Triple Witching Day in the Stock Market. Reindexing of funds happens 4x per year. Rivian was likely caught in the same net as other big movers.

Looks like a basic sell to cover taxes for quarterly RSU grant to me. Rivian is distributing RSUs on a quarterly schedule. They will sell a portion of those RSUs to cover the taxes. At RJs bracket, that's at least 35% of his awarded RSUs being sold.

BYD is not launching in the USA. Do a little research.

I bought $10,000 in Rivian stock the day after the IPO, and it's now worth $722. I simply view it now as a long term savings account. Hopefully some day I get some nice portion of my money back. I'm certainly not going to sell it now, so I just don't worry about it. Maybe when the R5 is released some day...then it'll be time to sell.
