I'm feeling a bit anxious about the new Rivian 2024.39 release and wanted to reach out to see if anyone without a Connect+ subscription has received the update yet. Most of the discussions I’ve seen seem to be from those with the subscription.

I noticed on the Rivian website that software updates for non-subscribers might come after all Connect+ users have received theirs. I'm tempted to get the subscription just for this month/update, especially since I've missed the Halloween theme the last two years and would love to experience it this time!

Is there anything to substantiate that connect+ subscribers will get priority? I've seen that mentioned a few times but it's so far only mentioned as speculation. Could it be the fine print is there because as a connect+ subscriber you have the ability to download the update at any time while non-subscribers will only have a chance at downloading the update when connected to wifi?

I subscribed to Connect+. I’m not certain whether I received priority treatment but I did receive this update yesterday afternoon which is much quicker than I normally do. Usually I end up waiting a few days to receive an update once it’s released from beta testing. It may be a coincidence but either way I am pleased I received it as early as I did.

Not from my point of view. I'm a subscriber and it hasn’t been pushed/offered to my vehicle. If priority means waiting a week and a half instead of the usual 2.5 weeks (that's about usual for me,) then I'm more than underwhelmed.

Yes there is. It’s part of the connect plus notes.

Funny (to me) that something like Halloween themes are potentially a tipping point to subscribe.

Not picking at you; I don't disagree that more fun is worth it.

I’m non connect + and still no update. Midnight is in an hour and I want to play with the new screens :(

Then subscribe to connect plus and you will probably have it tomorrow. I’m guessing that non members are going to get it a day before Halloween or maybe even later.

Connect+ brings media, connectivity and live security to your Rivian with features like:
  • In-vehicle hotspot
  • Satellite Images
  • Alexa Connected commands
  • Data to access music streaming apps like Apple Music, Audible, Spotify, Tidal and TuneIn
  • Gear Guard Live Cam
  • Google Cast and YouTube (coming soon)

Note: all Rivian vehicles continue to come with standard connectivity features such as:
  • Regular over-the-air software updates
  • Live navigation
  • Remote vehicle commands
  • Phone as a key
  • Alexa Basic (for vehicle commands)
  • Tethering (connecting the vehicle to an external Wi-Fi network or phone hotspot)

Not sure what the issue is. You’ll get the update after the connect plus subscribers get theirs first.

Make sure you’re connected to WiFi. Sit in the truck for a while to make sure it stays awake and give it time to phone home.

This scenario worked for me this afternoon*. I got my notification email from Electifi that the update was downloading shortly after doing this. Most likely a coincidence but who doesn’t like to escape to their Rivian and listen to music for a bit. Maybe it’ll smooth the no-update-blues.

*I subscribed to C+ this morning.

I have to admit this actually surprises me. I thought that when they said "priority updates" what they meant was that connect plus subscribers will download the update over cellular immediately while non-subscribers would have to connect to Wi-Fi to get an immediate download.

Did not anticipate it sending to connect Plus days before, regardless of connection type
