I am sure many if not most of us have had issues with our RIvians; what impresses me is how Rivian handles my issues. I realize there is still tons of room for Rivian to improve, however, when I compare my service and warranty experience with other premium brands like JLR, Audi, Porsche and maybe even Tesla (if one considers them "premium"), Rivian has been way more responsive.

Hell yea, nothing is perfect its more about what the product does for you. And my R1T covers just about every single base. They also say ev's don't have a soul I think that is completely different with this brand.

Owning a new Audi and having it in the shop more than I had it in my garage the first year and their absolutely horrible service I would never buy one again.

Rivian handles everything so awesome! Would buy again!

Love my Rivian. Not perfect but the best package. Hope to drive it for many more years to come!
Two things I don’t like: the very long service wait times - took me over 6 months to get a service w/ recalls done this year. Once scheduled it was a great experience.
The second one for me is the ongoing phantom drain stuff. I’m an engineer and there is really no excuse for that not being best in class. For me it’s not about the cost of electricity as much as the constant worry to park the car in a place or ship it and come back to an empty battery prematurely.

Had my share of really bad experiences with Tesla. They were good early on and then I caught them cheating and misrepresenting. Takes a while to gain trust, it’s gone in a heartbeat.

I have to share this experience with you. I had a neighbor who purchased a brand new Audi, One night I saw all of these nights flashing in his garage. I walked over and knocked on his door and said hey did you know... he hung his head and said "I know, I have taken that car in so many times, they don't know why all the lights just start flashing and they do it for hours". that was two years ago, he still has the car (go figure) and yes randomly his garage is flashing! :)

Yup. Sounds about right. Always room for improvement, but despite the minor issues here and there, this has been the BEST vehicle I’ve ever owned and it just keeps getting better.

Our Model X does this sometimes. My wife keeps her keyfob in this one spot in the house that has just enough reach to communicate with the car in the garage, unlocking the doors several times per hour.

1. It's great advertisement for wardriving relay attackers.

2. It's great if you have so many spare CR2354s that you cherish every opportunity to replace keyfob batteries every other month.

I can believe that. We love our Dear Opal (out R1T). She has performed almost flawlessly since new. We are impressed to see that Rivian is #1. We were also happy to see that Opal's stable mate, Vivian, came in at #6. Vivian is a Chevrolet Silverado 2500.

That’s not a bug, it’s their new light show Halloween costume feature. It activates at random to surprise you! ?

There’s a pretty clear takeaway from Consumer Reports. If Rivian can improve quality control and service as they roll out the R2 and R3 (to above average), the company will become a dominant industry player.

As @Rivox noted, Rivians have soul. I can see Rivian overtaking Tesla over the next decade (especially if Elon remains at the helm of Tesla).

Hands down my Rivian service experiences have been above and beyond. I'm fairly fortunate however, because the service centre is within 10 km of my home so flexibility on my end is an easy trade off if a component is delayed.

We have had enough Ford's, GM's and Chrysler/Stelantis products to know we will never... EVER buy one of those again. Massive quality issues. Got into Nissan's when I picked up a used, high mileage 2004 Frontier to use as a dump hauler, but discovered that the truck was incredibly well built, and other that routine road wear, indestructible. That got us into Nissan's. Our 2015 Rogue is about to turn 160k miles; has been a great daily driver and is quite comfortable. That said, the company, Nissan, left a lot to be desired. Impossible to "custom order" what you want; the dealerships only wants to sell you what they can get. That put a sour taste in my mouth when I eventually upgraded the old Frontier for a 2019 and the very protracted custom-order process eventually fell apart. As for the Rogue; we've recently had to shop around for a new repair shop after one too many "Do-over" service mistakes through the selling dealership service department. We began to resent having to take the car back for the same repair 2-3 weeks in a row.
Like many folks on this blog, we found Rivian back when they had the prototypes of the R1T and R1S at the New York auto show many years ago. Love the look. We wanted to see what the company was going to do, and I am glad that they have become solid! When the 2nd Gen R1T was announced along with the lease option, we renewed our interest in the brand. The test drive in September sold us! Loved the R1T! Placed the reservation!

I have owned an driven a lot of trucks in my life; the Rivian is by far, the most exquisitely built machines I have ever had the ability to drive! The experience with the company, so far, has been superb - from Reservation to Delivery to follow-up. We'll certainly consider Rivian again as the Rogue is finally aging out.

Surprising that Toyota is so average. Not surprising to see Jeep so low, but I figured the Wrangler loyalists would prop the numbers up. Those folks and Rivian owners have a lot in common in that most of us typically are aware of the issues we may experience and don’t get TOO upset when they occur.

Even with the issues I've had with my R1S, when my lease is up in 3 years I'm very likely getting either another R1S or an R1T.
