If you get this working, we could see an end to whining about CarPlay on this forum. I will owe you a beer if this comes to fruition.

whois.com shows emplay.io as registered on Jan 5. I am not making any claims that this is a threat, but just pointing out that you should register DNS domains well before the underlying web site goes live. Brand new domains are filled with scams and malware, so these are blocked by default by the nextdns.io service. I'm sure other malware detection tools look more closely at these NRDs as well.Block Newly Registered Domains (NRDs)
Block domains registered less than 30 days ago. Those domains are known to be favored by threat actors to launch malicious campaigns.
Okay, but not the shut up part - we want to know more! That's the plan! ?
If it were a “woman in the middle” device it would likely work the first time even when the “man in the middle” device takes all the credit.Sounds like a "man in the middle" type device that accepts the Rivian input signals, then either passes them through to the display/UI unchanged or it sends it's own signal (AA or CP) to the display/UI. The great thing is with these type of devices is they are pretty much impervious to being rendered useless by the manufacturer because they don't do anything to the original input signal.
Back in the day, when hacking DTV and Dish was popular, devices like this existed which worked right up till the day they stopped using physical access cards for service... not that I knew anything about that!
That would result in at least 90% fewer posts per day. I mean…some people here don’t even own a Rivian and will still create an account so they can bitch about the absence of CarPlay…If you get this working, we could see an end to whining about CarPlay on this forum. There is no automatic switch from Rivian UI to EV Play UI at launch.
The rest I'm going to refrain from answering at this point as it does touch on a few of the integration details I'd prefer to release at launch.
I agree. From the "wireless switch" and other comments, it sounds like a digital hardware A/B switch for the video display and touchpad signals.Sounds like a "man in the middle" type device that accepts the Rivian input signals, then either passes them through to the display/UI unchanged or it sends it's own signal (AA or CP) to the display/UI. Back when I was a young’un, we didn’t have any access to CarPlay, and uphill both ways!! I remember my paw used to say that all he really wanted was a pony. That would result in at least 90% fewer posts per day.
