During long, multi-charging drives, I always set my charge limit to 100%. I don’t often stop long enough to hit 100% but on those occasions when I need a longer stop, it’s nice to avoid having to run out and unplug. And before anyone here complains, I don’t do this at busy chargers.

Anyway, yesterday I finished a daylong drive at 45% and before plugging in at home I reset the charge limit to 80%. When I came out to the truck this morning the battery was at 100% but the charge limit still showed 80%. My R1T ignored the set charge limit.

Anyone else encounter this?

Where are you setting it? I think there's likely to be some bug where changes in the app aren't reflected on the vehicle, and potentially where limits set in the app end up overriding what was set in the vehicle.. Irrespective of what they are.

Known issue from the last update. Really hoping it's fixed in 2024.51 as the charging schedule is also broken.

I've been noticing my R1S ignores settings sometimes, doesn't matter what the setting is. You have to set it, and reset the car for it to respect it. Overall this latest software package seems really buggy. Rivian needs to skip a few feature addition cycles and iron out the bugs of what we have now.

I've had this problem constantly with my Gen1 R1T. I've tried setting the limit multiple times via the truck and via the app with no success. The limit doesn't seem to stick, no matter how/where I set it. Really hoping it gets fixed in the update.

Have you reported this to Rivian service?

I've sent this in via the software bug reporting feature in the app. (This is under the "Share Feedback" link when you scroll to the bottom.) This is what service will tell you to do if you contact them about it. I'd recommend others do the same so it gets the attention of the software team :)

In this particular instance, I set the max charge to 100% via my iPhone app and when I returned home I changed it to 80% via the console in the truck.

Was kinda hoping to see this bug listed as being updated in next release...

It sucks to set it in app and have the truck ignore it.

Yep, big problem, discussed in another thread.

Turning off your charging schedule in the truck will allow your set charge limit to stick. If you have a non-Rivian L2 charger at home, you can use that to set a charge schedule.

This has happened to me a couple times too but I'm still on 2024.19.04 so that's on me.

Edit: Mine blew past my charge limit not under

It's not just the app. I changed charging schedule in the truck last night and it ignored it.
