I have not yet found the pattern to associate with this, but on occasion when I enter my R1S the steering wheel attempts to attack me. It will fully extend towards me. I have to use the "restore" option in my profile and it goes back to where I like it..

I've only ever had this happen when it was just myself in the truck and I think it's only ever happened at home. Anyone else?

I have been seeing this on my R1T for at least half a year now. This makes no sense at all, but it seems to happen only if the truck has been parked outside in the sun, it never has happened with my truck parked in the garage. I would say it happens about 10% of the time I get in my truck, when not in my garage.

I also think it has only happened at home as well.

double check if you have a "roomy entry and exit" setting
default setting is off
see page 43 in owners manual

Well we have a variation because I'm pretty confident mine has only happened in the garage. lol

I don't have this issue on my Gen 2, but a good tip to stop auto adjustments is to press any steering wheel button.

Anyone else drive your vehicle? I sent mine through a full service car wash the other day... where they drive your vehicle through the wash. Driver started pushing buttons on the dash and changed all the settings.

I think I may have found a clue, but need to test my theory. I parked in my driveway 3 times today and the steering column was telescoped one of those times. It happened when I was parked on a slope, not on the flat part of my driveway.

I second the suggestion for a reset. Also, might want to run the calibration as well. Lastly, if its doing this with the easy entry/exit setting off I would try turning that setting back on for a day or two then toggle it back to the off position.

Another thing to check is if you have an additional profile setup on the vehicle. Possible it could be confused about the profile.

If all else fails, you should submit a service request to Rivian. This makes them aware of the issue and if it is software related will allow them to alert the software team of a possible glitch.

My wife's old 2023 R1S acted flaky intermittently with the side mirror adjustments. Rivian wound up doing a manual firmware update at the service center to correct.

Never had this happen. I'd put in a ticket and see if mobile tech can do anything. As an aside-how are things with the mrs?

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem

Do you have 2 profiles set up? And is that other person in the car with you? May explain the attempt on your life/sternum.

I have the opposite problem. when getting in at home, it refuses to restore to my saved position. it's like trying to drive from the 3rd row.
