This is Great. I have seen nothing requiring connect plus
On Rivian’s web page about the release: This release brings all of these updates into the Rivian mobile app, plus more new-to-mobile features to help with planning your next adventure. In the mobile app we’ve added place photos, place descriptions and satellite view (with a Connect+ subscription), as well as the ability to see traffic and traffic incidents.

Looks like satellite view, place descriptions and photos need Connect+.

Apple does make smaller phones than the Max you know, but yes, Samsung makes incredible phones too! It's like Nikon or Canon for pro cameras....both are amazing, you simply pick what you like.
Rats... Iphone 16 Pro Max.... 😬

We already have this with Mapbox. It does NOTHING other than show there is a signal there. There is no status or usefulness.
That’s all i want to see the traffic lights on rhe map.
… and the overtemp protection.

Connect plus priority updates my butt.
The take rate for Connect+ is over 80% of total Rivian buyers. The update has been out for less than 24 hours, and Rivian pushes it in batches. Yes, you will be getting it before non-subscribers, but most people are subscribed, so it might still take a couple of days.

I think like existing Maps, Satellite view an place photos/names are only available on Connect+, but it seems like everything else, including GMaps and real-time traffic are there for everyone.

Does Rivian call the in-car infotainment "the mobile app?" Because it's pretty confusing (they're not talking about the iOS/Android app right)?
It literally says “mobile app”. Don’t overthink it.

I'd also like to see upcoming Stop signs on my route. That's an extra layer of safety for me while navigating streets in new places.
Perhap look up and pay attention to your surroundings. It should not be overly difficult to notice stop signs and traffic lights without relying on the navigation to show them.

I installed the update last night and while the maps are an improvement over what we had before, it made one of my biggest gripes with the UI worse. I've always hated how the Maps app zooms all the way in on the center display. I prefer to keep my map zoomed out as I use it for traffic data more than navigation (even though the old traffic data was unreliable). With the old maps, you could at least zoom out and it would maintain that level until you left the app and came back.

The new Google maps lock the map orientation and position as soon as you zoom out even without panning the map, making you tap Recenter to resume following the car. Tapping Recenter causes it to zoom all the way back in. I'm not sure why Rivian thinks we always want to see a close-up detailed map. That already exists on the dashboard, so let me decide what zoom level the center display uses.

With this new feature are we going to be able to give navigation instruction via voice commands? For example, in the middle of a route you press a button and say "Riri add a coffee shop along route".

What happened to the Driving Dynamics updates for Gen 1? Looks like they did not make it to the final update where it did make if for Gen 2 vehicles. This was part of the Beta test but looks like Gen 1 owners may need to what a bit more. Anyone have some intel?
The rumor I have is that this is still true for G1 vehicles and there will be continual suspension adjustments coming in future releases. They have not forgotten you or left you behind as abandonware.

It literally says “mobile app”. Don’t overthink it.
Continuing to overthink it, what is the value prop of having it in the mobile app? And having it gated to Connect+? This is the device where 50+% of people have Google Maps as a default app on these very mobile devices.
