BRB, finding a way to constantly F5 my car for the update.
Link your account to rivianroamer, per their instructions and advice on security. Once linked, you will get a email notification whenever each OTA is pushed to your vehicle. If your vehicle is connected to a good WiFi network, it will just start downloading automatically once pushed.

Wow google maps is significant.....

Updates to a UI are not significant. Glad you got an accessory mode, I am actually surprised Rivian didn't claim Gen 1 hardware couldn't support it. That seems to be par for the course.

So no improvements to Gen 1 are possible? Just like "tank turn", "launch mode", ADAS and many others....

Tesla does a much better job. Rivian does not compare with Tesla at this stage. I was rooting for them, but they seem to lack any integrity at this point.

Also I said "essentially abandonware" not just abandonware. Quite getting your knickers in a bind and actually read what people type.

A new UI... Wow... "most notable." You can get mad all you want, facts remain that the Gen 1 are an after thought and are essentially abandonware.
Perhaps you should trade your Rivian for a Tesla so you can be happy. I heard a future Tesla update will include 3 more types of on-demand fart noises, even for older models!

Those of us with reasonable expectations certainly aren’t feeling “abandonware” vibes in the slightest. But I’m also not an entitled person who is impossible to please, so maybe that’s it.

When I am done building my house, I will buy a Tesla again. Unfortunately Scout is planning to use Rivian tech, but I will wait to see what/how they implement things; at this time the Scout will replace my Rivian.

I’m constantly reminded that not everyone is cut out for software-defined vehicles—and it shows in the endless negativity. Look, we’ve owned two Gen 1 Rivians for a while now and still love them. Honestly, the ride quality holds its own (or beats) the Gen 2, and maybe that’s why they keep tweaking it.

We committed to this journey back in December 2018, fully aware that it’d be a moving target. That’s the lens we use to judge the brand, constant evolution, not perfection out of the gate.

Props to any company that listens, learns, and pivots based on real user feedback. That’s rare. And Rivian? They’re doing just that.

Or get therapy. Shit-posting and slandering brands in online forums is not productive. It's of no value to anyone and does nothing towards their own happiness.

I suspect the Gen 1 suspension improvements are coming but have been delayed pending more testing and development. The beta release notes described exactly the state of things, the need to “provide a better distinction between ride feel Soft, Medium, and Firm settings”, etc.

Over the past 2-3 years we have gone from stiff Gen 1 to anazing soft Gen 1 suspension, and we’re now back to somewhere in between. I think they’re working on getting it dialed in while maintaining stability.

What false statement of fact did I make?

What happened to the Driving Dynamics updates for Gen 1? Looks like they did not make it to the final update where it did make if for Gen 2 vehicles. This was part of the Beta test but looks like Gen 1 owners may need to what a bit more. Anyone have some intel?

Under Driver Assistance Improvements, what is an “electrical accessory” that is a “vehicle attachment that doesn’t have an axle and isn’t directly supported by the ground”? Something that connects to the tow hitch, requires electrical power, but has no wheels; what would that be?

And then the release note says “Driver Assistance may not work as designed if a large electrical accessory is attached in the rear of the vehicle”. How large is “large”? That’s pretty vague. And saying “…attached in the rear…” is a very odd phrasing. Should be “attached to the rear…”.

I remain disappointed that Rivian disables adaptive cruise control when towing a trailer. Tesla has always allowed the use of their adaptive cruise control while towing, and it’s a very useful feature on long highway trips. Rivian needs to figure that out.

Hitch-mounted bike or cargo rack with relocated license plate and lighting.

Ugh. Then why did you buy a non-Tesla? Send your feedback to Rivian through the mobile app. Scroll to the bottom and tap "share feedback".
