PS I had neve used Discord before. What a terrible place to put unformation for later use. A true website like Gerry has or a forum like this one is so much better at organizing information(Gerry's charts comparing different model attributes are so nice!) for later retrieval and searching and teaching a new person. Not enjoying my time over at Discord.
Glad to hear people are getting some value out of it! Yeah, that was one of the biggest pieces of feedback that I've heard from people - Discord is just not a user-friendly place, especially for beginners.

I'm with you. I hate this trend toward sending everyone to Discord for what should be documentation that's static. Discord is a mess for finding useful things. It's sort of like people brought back the mess that was IRC from the 90s and repackaged it.

A gaming communications platform shouldn't really be used as a repository for instructions IMHO.

Are we sure the stock ACC cruise doesn't use regen when slowing under radar control. The brake pedal moves a bit sure, but the the center screen shows regen in the wheels. AND the effiency graph will show a positive spike in effeciency on a hard brake or long down hill brake.

The general consensus here seems you be have to use Comma with second harness OR MADS in Sunny Pilot to have regen. I'm not so sure it doesn't regen with stock cruise.

To be fair, Discord is not the center of all things comma related. Al the architecture is held on GitHub. Now you want to talk about a place that is confusing for newbies..... So, communication around the forks and models ended up on discord - a communication platform. Right now, for Rivians, there really are only 3 Discords that people would want to listen to and of those there's really only a handful of channels that the average Rivian user would be interested in.

That's been a piece of mis-info for a while. ACC will use brakes, BUT, it's more like the braking assist toggle. The difference being that as soon as deceleration is in play, it will put the brakes into a ready state, not actually engaging. So you can feel the pedal move but only taking up the slack then it will engage the brakes as regen becomes less than needed

Oh, I agree Discord is the lesser of those evils. GitHub often feels like it was designed by Evo Shandor to bring back Gozer from whatever evil plane of existence it lives in. Especially when you start getting into the forks in OSS.
I’m grateful we seem have a good Comma community already to help offset the learning curve (and thanks to Gerry for all the helpful videos and tips!)

Got it installed today! While there was definitely some cussing during the process, it only took about 45 minutes including a test drive to make sure everything was working before I put it back together

Seems to be up at this current moment.
Thanks for checking Gerry. Must be my WiFi. Seems to work when I’m on cellular.
